After several successful closed beta tests, Pearl Abyss has officially announced the Open Beta test (OBT) for Black Desert Mobile in China starting on April 6. Before this, the company conducted three successful closed beta tests to embed the game into the Chinese mobile gaming ecosystem deeply. Black Desert Mobile is a re-interpretation of the existing PC title Black Desert. Black Desert Mobile was already available in 150 countries, and Pearl Abyss has now officially expanded into China.
The game started the first steps of expansion in China earlier this year in February, with closed beta tests attracting many users. The company gained valuable feedback to localize the game into the Chinese market. The game already has more than 550,000 new global users, with an increase in North America by 230%.
Black Desert Mobile China Open Beta Test is starting this month
To mark the beginning of this exciting journey in China, Pearl Abyss has scheduled ‘Fantasy Adventure Night’ on April 26. The event has a star-studded guest list with famous Chinese esports player and broadcaster BJ Dashima, Chinese influencer PDD, and popular Chinese actor Jiang Dan.
Black Desert Mobile was instantly a global hit because of the ultimate action scene, the limitless ability to create and customize characters, and intricate graphics made with Pearl Abyss’s game engine, which managed to hold the users captive.
The game has already completed a global download count of 36 million and was selected as the ‘most anticipated game of the year’ at the Game Player Awards selected by users of the Chinese game site ‘17173’. The game had also won 6 medals at the 2018 Korea Game Awards for its game quality and user experience.
General director of Black Desert Mobile China, Seo-Won Choi, said “We worked closely with publishers for Chinese service and put a lot of time and effort into localization work. We will provide game services that users can be satisfied with based on the stable operation.”
With the open beta test date announced, the Chinese gaming community could soon be enjoying the highly anticipated and globally famous Black Desert Mobile.
