Bravely Default: Brilliant Lights(also known as Brilliant Treats), an upcoming single-player RPG in development by Square Enix is currently open for pre-registration in Japan. It is unclear when pre-registrations will go live in other regions or when the game will get released.
Bravely Default: Brilliant Lights: An RPG without the gacha elements
Roleplaying video games aren’t exactly a novelty on mobile as proved by the smash success of Genshin Impact. However, Brilliant Treats is a single-player-focused RPG with no character gacha elements whatsoever. This means that players are free to choose any character they wish to play and train them through the story as they see fit. The game features a hugely compelling story written by Keiichi Amiyo and a top-notch background score by Revo.
While Brilliant Lights is a single-player-focused RPG, there will still be some social/multiplayer elements to the game. These include PvPs, chats, guilds, and raids players can hop into with their friends. These options should be adequate if they ever find themselves getting tired of the single-player mode.
A smash hit title comes to mobile
The game, which is releasing on the special occasion of the 10th anniversary since the inception of the Bravely video game series, will feature all characters free-to-play and participating as successive playable characters. The game also features the “Brave and Default” battle system which will be adapted for smartphones to provide a more pleasant user experience.
Gameplay for Brilliant Treats was first shown in July this year and the news of pre-registration is a sure sign that a release date could be sooner rather than later. Square Enix’s decision to open pre-registrations in Japan first does make sense, given the audience the game is catered to.
The Bravely Default series was highly successful and this could also turn out to be a smash hit in the mobile gaming industry.
