Clash of Clans removes the Troop, Spell, and Siege Machine Training time

Time cut short!

Story Highlights
  • Troop, spell, and siege machine training times will be removed in the CoC March 2025 update.
  • A new server tech Match Anytime system will introduce snapshot bases.
  • Clan Castle donations will require Elixir or Dark Elixir from now.

Clash of Clans brings players a huge surprise announcement as the 13th birthday starts with a bang. Announcing a major change, Clash of Clans is removing all troop, spell, and siege machine training time in the upcoming March 2025 update.

As Clash of Clans celebrates its 13th anniversary, the developers have decided to remove “outdated” wait times to modernize the game. This change follows the successful removal of training costs back in 2022, and following the update, all troops will be ready instantly, but yes, there are some catches.

Titan League and lower players can attack instantly, and heroes recover immediately

Players in Titan League and below will no longer have to wait between attacks, and heroes will no longer need recovery time. This means you can battle as much as you want without any cooldowns. However, the Legend League will still maintain its daily limit of eight battles for now.

By allowing you to engage in back-to-back battles, the update is expected to improve battle mechanics learning and speed up progression through early Town Hall levels. To address matchmaking concerns, a new system called Match Anytime will introduce something known as “snapshot bases.”

These are copies of real player bases under a shield, ensuring there are always bases to attack while keeping the defender’s resources and trophies safe. This technology is already used in Clan Wars and Legend League and will now be added to multiplayer battles as well.

Training Potions and Perks will be phased out with new benefits arriving

With the removal of training time, Training Potions and Treats will be phased out from in-app purchases and chests, eventually disappearing from the game. You are advised to use their remaining potions before the update, as unused ones will be converted into Gems at the end of the month.

The Training Perk in the Gold Pass, which is used to boost the training time in your base, will also be replaced with a new benefit that reduces Clan Castle request timers. Another key change is the introduction of resource-based donations.

Since troops are instantly ready, donating them will now require Elixir or Dark Elixir depending on the troop instead of pulling from your existing army. Additionally, the Clan Castle request timer will be set to a flat 10 minutes for all players, with Gold Pass holders getting further chopped times.

To prevent trophy inflation from unlimited attacks, trophy rewards for victories will be adjusted, with the biggest reductions applied to 1-star wins. The developers will monitor player progression and adjust these values as needed.

Meanwhile, Legend League will keep its 8-battle daily limit, but an update later this year may expand this system. The March 2025 update is set to arrive soon, with official previews and sneak peeks coming in the next few weeks. Keep an eye on this space for updates.
