Clash Royale Merge Tactics Season 7 Update: New Structure, Party Mode, Dagger Duchess, Equipment Modifiers, and more

The Merge Tactics mode in Clash Royale is getting one of its biggest updates yet with Season 7. Launching on February 23 and running until April 13, 2026, the new season extends the season timeline, introduces Party plays with friends, adds a brand-new Ruler, and brings Equipment Modifiers into the mode for the first time.

Clash Royale Merge Tactics Season 7 Update explained

Starting with Season 7, Merge Tactics seasons will now last between six and seven weeks. The longer format gives you more time to climb leagues, collect Ruler Cards, and compete for leaderboard positions without the previous time pressure. So the next Season won’t arrive in March but in April instead.

Party Up and Play With Friends

Season 7 introduces Party functionality to Merge Tactics. You can now invite friends to join their Party and queue together. The host controls invitations and can remove players if needed.

When playing in a Party of two, both players can earn Starsteel and battle rewards. However, upcoming opponents are hidden to maintain competitive fairness. Starsteel gain or loss is affected by each player’s individual league and their Starsteel difference.

If one player wins and the other loses, certain placements may cancel out Starsteel’s gains. Daily rewards are still determined individually based on battle placement.

The Starsteel distribution for a Party of 2 battles works as follows:

New Ruler: Dagger Duchess

Season 7 introduces Dagger Duchess as the newest Ruler. Her ability, Dagger Donation, provides Dagger Equipment at the start of battle. Players can drag the Dagger onto any troop, granting bonus range and increased hit speed.

The Dagger functions as Equipment and follows the same durability rules as other modifiers. Dagger Duchess has a dedicated Ruler Reward Track on Starsteel Road. By collecting her Ruler Cards, you can unlock the following cosmetics:

  • Disguised Duchess
  • Daring Daggers
  • Duchess of Hearts

The Crystalline Duchess skin and Crystalized Conquest confetti are available in the Merge Tactics Ruler Skin Shop. Purchasing this skin also unlocks Dagger Duchess immediately.

Goblin Queen also receives a new Serpentine Queen skin alongside the Slithering Siege confetti in the shop. Spirit Empress remains available on Starsteel Road for continued card collection.

New Troops

Season 7 adds two new 3-Elixir troops.

Trait Adjustments

Giants are now classified as Titans. Fire and Titan traits now grant unique effects to individual troops within the synergy.

March Equipment Modifiers

Equipment Modifiers are introduced through Starsteel Road. At the start of the battle, one Equipment item appears under the bench. It can be dragged onto a troop during preparation.

Each Equipment item has durability and breaks after a set number of triggers. A troop can carry only one Equipment at a time. Equipment can be reassigned during the Preparation Phase.
