It’s fifty for Clash Royale as Season 50 arrives with the returning Clash-A-Rama theme, following the Card Evolution update that arrived this June 19th. Once again, the new season this August 2023 will be introducing some interesting event modes as well as the usual new skins for towers, new emotes, banner box items, and the Season Shop rewards. This time, we will also have a new Card Evolution going live as well with the arrival of Knight, so let us look into the details.
Clash Royale Season 50 Clash-A-Rama August 2023 Update details
As teased by the Clash Royale team a while back, the battles will take place in the Clash-A-rena, themed after the season name.
New Tower Skins
Currently, two new Tower Skins have been confirmed for this update, which will be available in the Pass Royale. The Gold Tier of the Pass Royale unlocks the Clash-A-Rama King tower skin at Tier 48, whereas the Cartoon Castle tower skin can be unlocked via the Shop.
Both the tower skins are simple. The Pass tower skin is a pretty decent one, resembling the look of the King, but isn’t very special, to be honest. However, the skin obtainable in the shop boasts an attractive visual aesthetic, characterized by an engaging and well-executed cartoonish vibe.
New Card Evolution: Knight
In the latest evolution update, the Knight receives a new ability. As the evolved Knight moves, they acquire a distinct Shield that enhances their performance in close-quarters combat. This evolution state grants them a 10% increase in damage with each hit, a 33% boost in hit speed, and a substantial 30% rise in hit points (HP). The Knight requires 2 cycles to trigger the evolution process, resulting in every third Knight you deploy becoming evolved.
Emotes and Banners
Once again, six new emotes will be coming, which will be featuring the Clash-A-Rama emotes alongside Mega Minion and the Knight Evolution. Alongside, there are 40 brand-new banners available. There are 16 in the Banner Box, 16 for sale, 4 in the Season Shop, and 2 for Diamond Pass Royale owners.
Season Shop and Card Boosts
The Season Shop will return with some fantastic deals, which can be obtained by exchanging season tokens. Along with the cards on offer, banners and emotes are also worthwhile investments. Knight, Mega Minion, and PEKKA cards are also available in the Season Shop for 500 tokens apiece. Wild Shards will also make an appearance in the shop, available for 6000 tokens.
Barbarian Shards are also found in the Season Shop, which can be purchased thrice starting from 5,000 tokens which will add the same value to each purchase. Four cards have been picked for boost this time around, instead of the regular three. They are Knight, PEKKA, Hog Rider, and the Mega Minion.
Clash Royale August 2023 Balance Changes
Evolution cards and the story of getting nerfs and buffs! Even though there are minor changes, here is the overview of the balance changes for the cards this season.
Buffed Cards
Goblin Giant
This is a deserved update.
- Hitpoints: +6.0%
Battle Ram
Most needed buff for a dying card.
- Hitpoints: +6.0%
- Charge Distance: 3.5 tiles → 3 tiles (-14.3%)
Tesla
A lot of stats get a good amount of buff.
- Hit Speed: 1.2s → 1.1s (+9.0%)
Nerfed Cards
Firecracker Evolution
The best evolution card gets a nerf, shocking!
- Hitpoints: -9.1%
- Attack Pushback: 2 tiles → 1 tiles
Royal Giant Evolution
Everybody saw this coming.
- Hitpoints: -8.3%
Mighty Miner
The popular champion gets a pretty
- Damage Duration: +12.5%
- First Damage charge duration: 2sec > 2.25sec
- Second Damage charge duration: 2sec > 2.25sec
- Time until fully charged Damage: 4sec > 4.5sec
Reworked Cards
Skeletons Evolution
An attempt to balance Skeletons Evolution, again.
- Cycle: 3 → 2
- Max count: 6 → 8
