COD Mobile returns with Season 5, titled Primal Reckoning, arriving on May 28, 2025. This update introduces a lot of new things, including the Multiplayer map called Zoo, a special collaboration event with NieR: Automata, and many other additions, which I will discuss in this space.

COD Mobile Season 5 2025: Battle Pass and Challenge Pass
Free Pass
The Battle Pass offers free and premium tiers packed with new content. The free track features the debut of the new and versatile VMP SMG with a high rate of fire and solid control, plus a fresh reskin for the Combat Axe throwable.
Premium Pass
Premium Pass owners can unlock relentless Operators like Gustavo — Viciousness, Lazarus — Scrim Net, American Bulldog — Tentacles, and Kitsune – Blue Line Optic, along with weapon blueprints such as the Koshka — Snow Leopard, Hades — Scales, ASM10 — Birds of Prey, LW3-Tundra — Hunter Tracker, and the VMP — Stun Slash.
The Battle Pass Subscription continues to provide extra perks, including monthly rewards, XP boosts, discount coupons, and special crate pulls. This season’s Ground Forces will unlock the Baker — Cobra Hunter Operator Skin, MSMC — Snake Weapon Blueprint, and Backpack 4 — Snake.
Challenge Pass and Secret Caches
Season 5’s Challenge Pass splits missions into Standard, Special, and Elite categories. Completing them grants Challenge Tokens to spend in the Exchange for exclusive items like a Smoke Grenade reskin, an epic Bathysphere — Killer Whale operator skin, and various camo crates.
Secret Caches have been updated with a new legendary AK-47 – ICB Rifle, replacing the Stun Baton, and introducing Universal Shards that can be saved and used on future cache rewards.
New additions in Zoo Map and Buy Machines arrive
Multiplayer Content: New Zoo Map
Returning from Call of Duty: Black Ops, the Zoo map makes its debut on mobile as a mid-sized battleground. It challenges you to navigate through animal pens, gift shops, and overgrown areas all connected by a monorail track, perfectly matching the season’s dark, post-apocalyptic vibe.
Battle Royale: Buy Machines
The Isolated map in Battle Royale now features Buy Stations scattered across the terrain. These machines let you buy weapons like the Purifier flamethrower, armour, ammo refills, and perks using in-game cash collected from the environment and fallen opponents. Eliminated enemies drop currency, so looting and smart spending become key to survival.
Themed event, added content, and store updates
New Themed Event: NieR: Automata
This season’s big collaboration invites you to join the elite YoRHa Unit in a themed event. Complete event objectives to earn action points and unlock branching paths with unique Skill Chips. Successful missions reward exclusive operators like Kui Ji – YoRHa No. 9 Type S and melee weapons inspired by NieR: Automata’s signature style.
Store Updates: Mythic VMP and NieR: Automata Content
The in-game Store now features a new Mythic Weapon Draw with Rin Yoshida, a skilled weaponsmith, and the Mythic VMP – Toxic Blooms blueprint, designed with plasma crystals.
NieR: Automata-themed content is available through two Draws led by characters Kestrel – YoRHa No. 2 Type B and Fiona St. George – Commander White. These include themed weapons like the legendary PP19 Bizon – Morph Symphony and AK-47 – Final Apocalypact, along with unique melee weapons.
Additional Legendary Draws include the Rainbow Death Legendary Weapon Draw, featuring Bulldozer as a tactical unicorn. The Battle Pass Vault also returns, offering you a chance to revisit past Season 8 – Train to Nowhere content with epic skins and weapon blueprints.
