COD Mobile is heading into deeper waters with Season 7 titled Phantom Current, launching on July 30, 2025, at 5 PM PT. This high-seas themed update introduces the new RC-XD Car Racing mode, the return of Gulag in Battle Royale, and a new Mythic Operator, so here are all the details explained.
COD Mobile Season 7 2025 Phantom Current Update: Key Highlights
RC-XD Car Racing in Multiplayer
A new multiplayer mode titled Mini Mayhem puts you behind the wheel of RC-XD cars in chaotic mini-races across various maps. This mode supports solo play or up to eight players in a competitive race format.
Racers dash through multi-lap circuits, navigating hazards and avoiding death zones. Tumble into a death zone, and cars will immediately explode, which will respawn you at the nearest checkpoint. Climb the leaderboard as you win races and unlock custom vehicle skins.
Gulag in Battle Royale
Gulag comes to COD Mobile for the first time as a limited-time event in the Isolated map. After being eliminated, you are sent to a 1v1 arena.
Winning this duel allows them to redeploy, while losing means you must wait for teammates to revive them via the Buy Station. Every player gets one free Gulag attempt per match, and additional entries can be purchased using Gulag Tickets.
New Wildcard: Skill Overdrive
The new Skill Overdrive wildcard lets you equip an additional Operator Skill in multiplayer. While this opens up powerful combinations, it also affects gameplay balance and requires strategic loadout choices. This wildcard is designed for aggressive players who want more flexibility in their approach.

Battle Pass Free Tiers
Free tier rewards in Season 7 include the MG 82 LMG, a weapon known for its fast rate of fire and large magazine. You also gain access to the new Bomb Drone Scorestreak, which can be used to target enemies from the air. Other free items include Vault Coins, basic blueprints, and operator skins.
Premium Pass Tiers
The Premium Battle Pass features ocean-themed content, including operators like Farah — Stealth, Kreuger — Deep Six, Ethan — AQUA-44, and Stone — Painkiller. The blueprint lineup includes weapons such as KN-44 — Angler, QQ9 — Odyssey 09, Peacekeeper MK2 — Technautilus, XPR-50 — Hydrofoil, and the MG 82 — Dreadnought.
Ground Forces subscribers will receive the Zane — Monsoon Season skin, SKS — Carrier Strike blueprint, and Backpack — Carrier Strike, along with bonus XP and discounts.
Challenge Pass
The Challenge Pass returns with three categories of missions: Standard, Special, and Elite. Completing these earns Challenge Tokens, which can be used to unlock summer-themed rewards such as Soap — Toxic Splash, the Tak-5 — Propeller, and the Jet Skies camo collection.
Events, Rewards, and other additions
Secret Caches
A new Legendary weapon, the RUS-79U — Mystical Lamp, is available this season through the Secret Cache system. You can work toward this reward by interacting with caches across different modes. Progress through milestones to unlock additional items along the way.
Girls’ Frontline Collaboration
The Girls’ Frontline collaboration adds themed content through a special event and in-game store items. You can complete tasks in both Multiplayer and Battle Royale to unlock rewards. The event includes login tasks and mission-specific challenges, with cosmetics based on Girls’ Frontline characters and weapons.
Store Updates: Mythic Draw, Girls’ Frontline, and Vault Returns
Dark Shepherd Mythic Draw
The Dark Shepherd — Phantom Mythic Operator leads the newest draw. It includes the AS-VAL — Shadow Marksman and Scythe — Soldering Edge, a Legendary melee weapon. If you unlock the Mythic Operator, you can access a full upgrade path with new visuals, effects, and Battle Royale animations.
Girls’ Frontline Store Content
In addition to the event I mentioned above, Girls’ Frontline content appears in a Lucky Draw, Bundle, and Strongbox. The draw features Scylla — ASM10 and a matching ASM10 — Girls’ Frontline Legendary blueprint. The Bundle includes an extra Legendary weapon, and the Strongbox offers a variety of themed cosmetics.
Double CP Event, Battle Pass Vault, and Additional Draws
Season 7 includes a Double CP Event, offering twice the purchased CP for a limited time. This bonus is valid in-game and through the Web Store in select regions. Meanwhile, two older Battle Passes return to the Vault: Zombies Are Back from Season 9 and Ultimate Frontier from Season 11.
Three additional Lucky Draws are available this season. The Bloody Seas Draw includes the Nyx skin and USS 9 — Spectral Seas weapon. The Fathomless Draw features the Bathysphere Operator and JAK-12 — Briny Deep. The Broken Tides Draw adds the Lustre Operator and Grau 5.56 — Immense Tides.
