Diablo Immortal is back with another Mini Update provided by the planes of Hell. With the Season Three Battle Pass, you previously walked the Adventurer’s Path, embarked on a Hero’s Journey, and began your transformation into an Aspect of Justice. All of the items listed below will be live after the maintenance is completed. Specific dates for anything going live after that are listed below. A journey into the Fractured Plane, the new Echo of the Immortal repeatable game mode, 36 new Legendary class items, and many more exciting Diablo Immortal additions await an August 2022 update!
Diablo Immortal August 2022 Update: New In-game Events
Fractured Plane Limited – Time Event
Even those with the greatest mental fortitude can become lost in the unrelenting darkness spread by the Burning Hells in a place like Sanctuary. Broken. Shattered. Trapped in the depths of their minds, the only way out is to enter the Fractured Plane.
The Fractured Plane is a new limited-time event in which players enter an unexplored 15-floor gauntlet inhabited by the Hells’ most ferocious minions. Your adventure in the Fractured Plane begins without the usual equipment, gems, and skills. Instead, you will have a pre-selected set of skills for your class. To progress, you must rely solely on your wits, the unstable gear you find, and the Chaos Coins you earn by defeating hordes of demons.
Best of all, only Legendary-level unstable gear will drop in the Fractured Plane, and the items you receive will complement the skills you start with, giving you the ability to make and tweak your build on the fly. When your journey in the Fractured Plane is over, all of your unstable gear will vanish.
At the Chaos Broker, you can exchange Chaos Coins for new items or Shards of Fortune. These shards raise your Fortune Rating, increasing your chances of receiving higher-quality Legendary items from chests on each floor. If you can make it to the fifteenth floor without dying more than five times, you will get rewards. Choose six of the Legendary items you’ve encountered during your run, and you’ll be rewarded with one at random to carry out of the Fractured Plane.
Echo of the Immortal
Rumors of an impending battle between the cunning Shadows and the exemplary Immortal have spread throughout Westmarch. The known might of the Immortal echoes throughout the city, from back alley conversations to passing exchanges across Rakkis Plaza, but can the Shadows usurp power? Echo of the Immortal—a limited-time, repeatable game mode—will be available for players who are at least Level 40 to showcase their PvP prowess in a Challenge of the Immortal-style battle from now until September 14 at 6 pm SGT / 3.30 pm IST server time.
In Echo of the Immortal, 15 players will compete against one randomly selected player imbued with Immortal power. If the group of players defeats the Immortal, the match becomes a free-for-all, with only the best-of-the-best claiming the reward and bragging rights! Speak to the Battleground Captain in Westmarch to try your hand at Echo of the Immortal.
Into the Dark Wood Limited-Time Event
Few people in Sanctuary are brave enough to stand up to the darkness and risk their lives for the defenseless. But you, adventurer, have dedicated your days to thinning out the ranks of the Burning Hells, ushering in safety where all hope had previously vanished. The oppressed look up to you, and you must travel into the unknown, Into the Dark Wood, to continue serving them.
From now until August 31 at 6 pm SGT / 3.30 pm IST server time, completing daily Into the Dark Wood tasks will earn you various types of heroic rewards. Completing enough tasks will also grant you milestone rewards, such as the festive Wreath of Blood Portrait Frame.
Hungering Moon
The moon’s insatiable hunger continues, and it craves more blood… possibly even yours! Gaze at the moon, bask in its sacred light, listen to its howl for sustenance, and lunar-laced blessings will be bestowed upon you. Meeting the moon’s requirements will earn you Moonslivers, which you can exchange for Blessings.
After obtaining seven Blessings, you will have earned enough goodwill with the moon to exchange them for a random reward. If you bless the moon enough, it will reward you with its flavor! From August 26, 6 pm SGT / 3.30 pm IST to August 29, 6 pm SGT / 3.30 pm IST server time, Diablo Immortal welcomes brave adventurers to assist in satiating the moon’s hunger.
Spawn of Damnation Cosmetic Set
The Horadric Order’s ancient tomes suggest that armor can be forged from demon flesh. While it is assumed to be completely protective and durable, there is some uncertainty about the effect this may have on the wearer’s mind. Will they, too, be a mindless Spawn of Damnation?
This diabolical panoply may not fool the demons of the Burning Hells, but it does send a message: their doom is approaching. Players can purchase the Spawn of Damnation Cosmetic Set from the in-game shop if they want to put on demon skin before their next battle.
Diablo Immortal August 2022 update: New in-game features
Multiplayer Requires High Hell Difficulties Improvement
- In Hell, you can now enter a Dungeon or a Hidden Lair. Two or more levels of difficulty with two, three, or four players. The intensity of the Dungeon will remain set for four players.
- Completing a Dungeon or Hidden Lair with four players unlocks a bonus chest.
Warband Improvements
- The Codex requirement for starting a Warband Camp has been changed to—join a Warband.
- The Hero’s Journey step requiring the submission of 10 Warband Chests has been removed.
Class Change Improvement
- After changing classes, you can now transfer your essence to Reservist Gear.
Vault of the Immortal
- The Raid the Vault event window has been reduced from two to one hour.
Treasure Goblin Improvement
- Legendary items can now be dropped by Treasure Goblins. When defeated, they will also drop more loot in general.
Diablo Immortal August 2022 update: Thirty-Six New Legendary Items
The content update includes a new set of menacing weapons and fortified armors. Many of the Legendary abilities revolve around crowd control.
Barbarian
- Armor Caste (Chest): Furious Charge generates shock waves when it collides with walls, dealing X damage to nearby enemies and stunning them for Y seconds.
- Grinning Effigy (Head): Taking damage during Undying Rage now causes an X-damage counterattack on all nearby enemies. Cannot happen more than once every Y seconds.
- Haughty Behemoth (Pants): When you land, your leap now knocks enemies into the air.
- The Hewer (Main Hand): Grab causes you to charge forward and grab the first enemy you come across. If you successfully grab an enemy, you will carry them for a short distance, damaging enemies as you go, before leaping into the air and slamming them into the ground, damaging and slowing nearby enemies.
- Steel Lamprey (Off-Hand): Chained Spear now marks enemies for X seconds and heals you for Y% of the damage it deals to marked enemies.
- Wreckfall (Shoulders): Whirlwind reduces all damage taken while channeling by X%.
Crusader
- Batterhythm (Off-Hand): Condemn damage is increased by X% for each enemy hit, up to a maximum of Y%.
- Flare-to-Mirror (Pants): Draw and Quarter is now electrified, damaging random nearby enemies and stunning them if they are shocked three times.
- Hard Censure (Chest): Condemn now summons a thunderbolt from the heavens to a specific location, dealing continuous damage.
- Shining Aster (Shoulders): Increases your Conjuration of Light damage by X%.
- Suspended Rule (Main Hand): Sweep Attack now throws the flail, creating a cyclone that picks up and carries away nearby enemies.
- Zerratus Husk (Head): Shield Charge now grants you a holy shield while charging, reflecting projectiles back at enemies, dealing X damage.
Demon Hunter
- Clutching Nails (Pants): Knife Trap now confines nearby enemies and increases all damage dealt to them when triggered.
- Decisive Report (Shoulders): Multishot now deflects enemies. This cannot happen more than once every six seconds to a player.
- Scatter Mask (Head): Activating Vengeance now deals X damage to all nearby enemies while making them flee in Fear for Y seconds.
- Spreading Shroud (Chest): Smoke Screen now throws a smoke bomb at a specific location, dealing continuous damage and greatly reducing vision for enemies who remain in the area.
- The Thud (Off-Hand): Impale damage to enemies with an actively harmful effect is increased by X%.
- War Generosity (Main Hand): Every X attack with Explosive Arrow causes an explosion, knocking the enemy away. Players cannot be knocked out more than once every Y seconds.
Monk
- Assemble the Wicked Tonfa (Off-Hand): Exploding Palm now congregates nearby enemies into a cluster in front of you. Only one charge is permitted.
- Fleeting Soul Tonfa (Main Hand): Mystic Allies now summons a single spirit ally who rushes in a specific direction, dealing damage to all enemies it encounters and compelling all nearby enemies to attack it.
- Fusing Crown (Head): Mystic Allies now protect you by taking X% of the damage you take.
- Pacific Pledge (Chest): Taking damage while Shield of Zen is active has a chance to trigger a counterattack that deals X damage to all nearby enemies.
- Shimmerlinn (Shoulders): Wave of Light now unleashes a wave of energy that damages and burns all enemies in its path.
- Tottering Tower (Pants): Flying Kick now stuns enemies and can be charged to deal more damage.
Necromancer
- Abnegation (Shoulders): Bone Spikes now knock enemies away as well.
- Drifter’s Fare (Off-Hand): Bone Spirits now summons a powerful skull that wanders around nearby enemies, dealing damage as it goes. A maximum number of X charges.
- Empty Pit (Pants): Dark Curse now summons a cursed eye that forces nearby monsters to attack it.
- Ethereal Boundary (Chest): Activating Wraith Form removes all effects that cause loss of control or slow movement speed.
- Inseverable Two (Head): Your Command Golem golem now absorbs X% of your incoming damage.
- Thrash Jaw (Main Hand): Grim Scythe now hurls the scythe in a direction, dealing continuous damage to enemies in its path and knocking them away. Grim Scythe no longer can have multiple charges.
Wizard
- Extraction Harness (Shoulders): Teleport now removes the most recent harmful effect that was applied to you.
- Fragments Upon Fragments (Pants): Meteor now drops several meteorites in a direction, knocking enemies away and stunning them.
- Halestone (Off-Hand): Ice Armor now provides X charges of damage immunity while also chilling nearby enemies who attack you.
- Quiet Downpour (Chest): Lightning Nova now launches a massive nova that explodes into smaller novae when activated again or when it reaches its destination.
- Shiversent Stare (Head): Ray of Frost now freezes enemies for X seconds after they take six hits from the ray.
- Staggernick (Main Hand): Arcane Wind now updrafts enemies into the air and stuns them, but no longer charges up.
As you may have noticed, each of the class has gotten six new items, giving you even more Legendary affixes to hunt down and use in your builds.
