Diablo Immortal reveals new cosmetics sets and class change features ahead of global release

Amazing ways to transform a character!

Diablo Immortal in a recent blog revealed amazing cosmetics and a new class change feature. Immortal will have cosmetics set available for players to customize and deck out their characters with. They also shared a new class change feature that will be added to the game after launch which allows players to change their class without having to reroll a new character.

Transform your character’s appearance with new in-game Cosmetics

Cosmetics allow players to drastically alter the appearance of their character without impacting their gear or attributes. They can be used as a new visual instead of the equipment.

Although each cosmetic set is available to all classes, cosmetics are gained per class. They change the design of a character’s attire and weaponry, and some even contain bespoke animations. Here’s an example of how the same cosmetic set can make different classes look different.

A character’s standard gear in Diablo Immortal is designed to fit their anatomy. There isn’t a suit of armor that can make the crusader bigger or smaller, for example. Cosmetics allow to break the mold and give the character an unusual, even extraterrestrial appearance.

Each month, a new cosmetic set themed after the Battle Pass will be released for all classes (Ghosts of Ashwold, above, is the first). Players can obtain a cosmetic costume for any class by purchasing the Battle Pass for a month, and the Premium Battle Pass will also contain custom portal skins and portrait frames.

Other cosmetics will be available in the Shop, some of which will be directly related to the setting and background of Sanctuary, while others will be typical theme shifts, such as a set featuring a character imprisoned in ice crystals or clad in Westmarch’s royal clothing.

There will also be some cool free cosmetics available, some of which can be gained through gameplay. As members of the Immortal faction increase their faction’s Dominance stat, they unlock their own distinctive cosmetic ensembles (which they can wear until they’re overthrown).

Upgrading your Legendary Gems and Resonance

Players will see their developing power reflected in their gear as they level up their Legendary Gems. Every Legendary item in the game has a distinct aesthetic progression that corresponds to the gem’s increasing Resonance. They will be able to unlock aesthetic wings at the greatest levels of the Resonance stat.

Introducing the Class Change feature

Diablo Immortal focuses on character development. When playing MMO games, players are focused on improving their character’s powers and keeping up with other players on the server. Diablo games, on the other hand, always have a wide range of classes with varied playstyles and imaginations. This creates tension for gamers who want to test every class but don’t want to stifle their character’s advancement by doing so. The new Class Change feature, which will be available soon after Diablo Immortal debuts, is the solution.

Players will be able to update their existing character’s class and visual customization in Westmarch. Players will keep all of their progress on Paragon levels if they change classes. They will be given a new set of equipped equipment that is suited for their new class, as well as all of their item progress and gems, which will also be transferred. The progress on Horadric Vessels and the Helliquary will not be lost, and none of the former equipped goods or stash will be lost.

Players have to start collecting Legendary goods that are unique to their new class, but that’s all part of the excitement of the game. If they change their mind, they can use the Class Change function to go back to the original class or try out some new classes they haven’t tried yet. Players will revert to their prior aesthetic customization and equip their old Legendary equipment when they return to a class.

Class Change will not be available when Diablo Immortal opens, but it will be available in a future patch. Immortal is shaping up to be the most personalized Diablo experience yet, but the variety it will offer at launch is only the start. Diablo Immortal is now available for pre-registration on iOS and Android devices.
