Most people know the story behind Dumb Ways to Die about how it became a popular game after their Public Safety Announcement (PSA) went viral. Now PlaySide Studios Limited has achieved another milestone, as Dumb Ways to Die reaches #1 on the top charts of the global iOS App Store

There is no stopping the run of Dumb Ways to Die

After ten years of the original video was released, Dumb Ways to Die continues to remain popular and impress fans with its humorous mini-games and game style. The Aussie-based developer has also released plenty of similar “Dumb Ways” themed games which have caught the eye of fans.

With no reason to stop, the game is now hit the top rank on the US iOS App Store among the free games section. Adding to the milestone is that Dumb Ways to Die is the top free game in 15 other countries. In terms of downloads in the iOS App Store alone, we can see the growth of downloads soaring high up to a million within a month.

Over the year, the revenue has been fairly consistent as well, earning over $60,000 between February 2022 and February 2023. Even in Google Play, the game rakes high numbers. With over 50 million downloads and a rating of 4/5 stars, the famous music video turned game doesn’t leave any platform unattended.

On TikTok, there have been thousands of new videos posted using the catchy theme song, which shows its widespread popularity. Recently, the makers celebrated their 10th anniversary with the announcements of their upcoming planned projects and the signing of a new agreement with Netflix. With the game still maintaining popularity, it is safe to say that they have everything at hand to continue this for another decade or two.
