Electronic Arts or EA is shutting down The Simpsons: Tapped Out after 12 long years of service. The company announced in a Facebook post about its free-to-play mobile game’s shutdown which has been online for over a decade.

The Simpsons: Tapped Out was a mobile game from EA that allowed you to create and manage your version of Springfield with buildings, characters, and decorations from the series.

The Simpsons: Tapped Out is actually tapping out for one last time

Unfortunately, EA has recently announced that The Simpsons: Tapped Out will be shutting down. The mobile game will be removed from the App Stores next month itself on October 31st, 2024. However, you will still be able to play the game until January, as the servers will be completely shut down on January 24th, 2025. Therefore you won’t be able to make any microtransactions as well.

As we anticipated, fans of the game are upset about this sudden announcement by EA. Some of the fans have also started signing petitions to prevent the game from discontinuing. Players are confused as to why the devs are shutting down such a popular game out of nowhere. Surprisingly, The Simpsons: Tapped Out will be the fifth title that EA is shutting down this year.
