Devolver Digital, publisher of indie games like Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout, the popular game for PC and PS4 (coming to other platforms later) which gained a lot of popularity is going to be releasing two games for mobile this year!
This information was revealed in a tweet from their official account and according to them, these two games are going to be “weird” on top of being free to play. Now it’s not really clear what they mean by “weird” but indie games are pretty creative at times and we might get something cool which brings something new to the table.
E3 could bring the good news
Now there are two probable theories here that work together. The first one is that some more concrete information might be revealed during E3 since earlier this month Devolver Digital had announced their involvement in the event.
The second theory is that the Beans team, a developer team based out of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Now they had entered a partnership with Devolver Digital earlier and their website is rather… “weird”. On their website, they have their partnership with Devolver Digital and job placements for art development on their game up for view. According to them, they’re working on an unannounced new IP with Devolver. At the bottom of the page, there are some rather out-of-place links as well, including one for a book called “Aliens in the Bible”. Weird stuff indeed.
Now could it be possible that Beans teams aren’t working on two free-to-play mobile titles and the weird site has nothing to do with Devolver Digital’s tweet? Maybe. Or, it could be WolfEye Studios who has already made a game in partnership with Devolver Digital which has the keyphrase ‘weird’ on its name, ‘Weird West’. However there’s not much to work off of and till there are further announcements, all that’s known is that the two titles are going to be free to play and will come out this year.
