Flexion and King team up to launch global hit Candy Crush Saga on alternative app stores

Candy Crush Saga releases on new platforms!

Flexion Mobile, a games marketing company has partnered with King to launch its hit puzzle release, Candy Crush Saga on alternative app stores. The fan-favorite game Candy Crush Saga will now be available via Huawei App Gallery, Samsung Galaxy Store, Xiaomi GetApps, and ONE store alongside the classic Apple Stores and Google Play where it is already available.

The app stores marketplace is decentralizing and more games are expected to extend their availability to alternative app stores

The marketplace, once dominated by two giants namely, Apple Store and Google Play has been seeing some gradual structural changes over the years. Recently, the EU passed a law that required Apple to allow side-loading and alternative App Stores. Similarly, Japan followed suit and made Apple allow side loading and alternative apps under their jurisdiction. This saw additional platforms and marketplaces, like Aptoide pop up, thus giving the industry some healthy competition.

Flexion Mobile has a history of helping developers launch their games on alternative platforms. They have previously teamed up with various developers to launch games like Hill Climb Racing 2, Monopoly Go!, and King of Avalon to name a few. Candy Crush can now be added to the same list, although the game has its audience and fanbase, Flexion’s marketing services will allow the game to adjust to the alternative app stores pretty well.

“We are delighted that King chose Flexion, and it’s an honor to take one of the world’s most successful mobile games to the alternative app stores. Our approach provides King with an easy, robust, and low-risk path to accessing the alternative app store while helping them to add revenue and audiences for their phenomenally successful game.” Quoted Jens Lauritzson, CEO of Flexion

With the marketplace now expanding more developers of both new and successful IPs will be looking forward to new avenues and releasing their titles for the alternative app stores. Flexion has a pretty successful history in launching some of the hits on alternative app stores and I won’t be shocked if they launch more high-value IPs like Candy Crush Saga on alternative platforms in the days to come.
