Fortnite is an action-packed battle royale game from Epic Games where players need to fight amongst each other on an island with 100 players and survive till the end to become the winner. The game has stayed very popular throughout the years because of its constant introduction of new content through various updates along with new collaborations with other famous franchises left and right. Marvel is one of the most famous entities in the world and Fortnite have already collaborated with them once. Now leaks suggest a second collaboration might introduce the new Sam Wilson Captain America skin.
New Fortnite v23.40 game files suggest the inclusion of Sam Wilson Captain America skin
According to famous data miners of Fortnite like Shiina and HYPEX, it has been revealed that evidence had been found in the new game files of the v23.40 update which hints at a Sam Wilson Captain America skin being in the works. HYPEX specifically claimed that an item shop banner in the Item Shop has been reserved under the “Captain America” title which hints at the inclusion of a new bundle for the upcoming collaboration in the game.
The First Avenger has already been part of Fortnite before as a part of a previous Marvel collaboration that commenced during Independence Day, 2022. But this time around it’ll probably be Sam Wilson and not Steve Rogers as he has been introduced as the new Captain America by the end of the Disney+ series Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Marvel again reconfirmed that Sam is the new Captain of the MCU during the Super Bowl by introducing him as such and not by his old mantle of Falcon.
Leaks are not confirmed yet even though strong evidence has surfaced
Shiina has found a new gameplay tag called “SoundLibrary_Glider_Elevate_Wings” which has been added with the new update in the games libraries along with an unused Captain America. The gameplay tag can be hinting at the iconic wings the character used as Falcon and continues to do so as Captain America which confirms the suspicions even further.
All of this is just speculation before Epic Games confirms anything official and it is most likely possible that the alleged collaboration is still in development and that is why even the data miners have been unsuccessful in fetching a release date for the update as it is still too early for it.
