Fortnite has built a separate fanbase for itself just by collaborating with various franchises. Fans of the game now wait eagerly during every new season for the announcement of new collaborations with their favorite franchises so they can acquire their favorite characters as skins and get themed weapons, cosmetics, and more. Dragon Ball is one such popular franchise that collaborated with Epic Games’ battle royale last August and with also a second round of collab in December of the same year. Now new leaks suggest that Dragon Ball Super might be coming back to Fortnite for the third time as a collaboration.
Fortnite x Dragon Ball Super collaboration might bring the Goku Black variant
A popular data miner of Fortnite named GMatrixGames has revealed on Twitter that he has seen game files labeled “DualParadox” which contains textures from the most recent update on May 7, 2023. The textures don’t really look recognizable at all to normal viewers but other popular leakers such as ShiinaBR and HYPEX have backed up this claim by stating that the popular Goku Black variant from Dragon Ball Super will be coming to the game.
The new skin is claimed to be a completely different model from Son Goku which was added to the game in last August. This would mean that the skin won’t be just a mere alternate style of an already existing skin like the Super Saiyan forms and will have its own unique design.
Goku black variant skin might be coming to Fortnite on May 9, 2023
Goku Day is celebrated in Japan on the 9th of May every year and data miner HYPEX has claimed that the skin might be released on that day itself. The day celebrates the cultural influence anime has on the country.
As the day is named after Goku, it only makes sense if one of Goku’s black variant skin releases on that day itself as it is the perfect opportunity. Though Epic Games has not announced anything officially yet so we’ll need to wait and see if the skin releases in Chapter 4 Season 2 or not.
