Oregon Trail: Gameloft released the old classic as an Apple Arcade original

A modern twist on the trials and tribulations of the road to Oregon....

French video game publisher Gameloft released the classic Oregon Trail as an Apple Arcade original. The Oregon Trail first released in 1971, is an educational/adventure game for generations. Interestingly, the original game was designed to teach 8th-grade students about the realities of 19th-century pioneer life on the Oregon Trail. But in the latest version, the players will experience a modern twist on the trials and tribulations of the road to Oregon. Apart from The Oregon Trail, Apple Arcade introduced more than 30 titles including NBA 2K21 Arcade Edition, and Star Trek: Legends from two new game categories.

Gameplay Overview

The Oregon Trail allows players, the ability to hunt using guns and bullets procured over the course of the game. Hunting wild animals including Deer and Rabbit allow players to add their food reserves. With improved graphic quality in the later versions, players were given the option to hunt in different environments. Here, players pick their traveling party, stock the wagon with supplies (food reserves), and embark on an adventure filled with tough choices, new dangers, and unexpected situations. The series became a big hit and has sold over 65 million copies in total and is one of the most popular PC games of all time.

With Apple Arcade, the Oregan Trail fans will get unique benefits like no ads, no in-app purchases, full support for Apple’s high user privacy standards, and one all-inclusive subscription offer with access for up to six family members. You can download Oregon Trail for Apple Arcade from here.
