Honkai Star Rail to introduce Jing Yuan under the ‘Swirl of Heavenly Spear’ character banner event warp on May 17, 2023. Jing Yuan is the upcoming 5-star playable character in Honkai: Star Rail, He is the general of the Xianzhou Alliance’s Cloud Knights and one of the Six Charioteers of the Luofu. Jing Yuan is a lightning character who takes the path of Erudition, where he excels at dealing multi-target damage with his explosive strikes. But before we talk about Jing Yuan, let’s take a look at his banner first and discuss why he would be a very good pull for both F2Ps and spenders.
Why should you pull for Jing Yuan in Honkai: Star Rail
Jing Yuan, is looking to be the best AOE damage dealer in the game, and not just that but the 4th best single-target damage dealer, at least in the 1.0 version. Not only does he deal massive damage to loads of enemies but also, has some of the most beautiful animations the game has ever presented to the players.
Jing Yuan seems to be a strong lightning damage dealer on release, having strong AoE as well as single target damage, something the lightning element does not have as of his release in the game. This justifies the fact that he by himself is a good unit with a strong kit if you want a lightning damage dealer with both AoE and single target capabilities as well as being a good shield breaker.
Jing Yuan Ascension and Abilities
Jing Yuan traces have some decent stat addition along with his ascension passives that increases his damage even further.

As we can see, he has some of the most unique and visually-pleasing attack animations in the game. So not only do you get Jing Yuan who can do mad AOE damage but also can take care of himself exceptionally well in single-target situations. It would not be surprising if Jing Yuan stays relevant in the meta for a year or two.
Basic Attack – Glistening Light (Single target)
Strikes lightning damage to one enemy dealing 50% of Jing Yuan’s ATK
Second Ability – Rifting Zenith (AoE attack)
Cleaves his weapon dealing lightning damage to all enemies equal to 50% of Jing Yuan’s ATK, also increasing Lightning-Lord’s strike count twice for the next turn.
Ultimate Ability – Lightbringer (AoE attack)
Hits all the enemies to deal Lightning damage equal to 120% of Jing Yuan’s ATK. This also increases Lightning-Lord’s strike count thrice for the next turn.
Talent – Prana Extirpated (AoE attack)
Lightning-Lord’s attacks are considered follow-up attacks. Lightning-Lord will be summoned at the start of the battle with 60 base SPD and 3 standard attack count.
Why did Hoyoverse decide to put this banner after Seele
The majority of players won’t have patience. They’ll spend their one-time prizes and exploration Stellar Jades on the first banner released (Butterfly on Swordtip, Seele’s banner). The Jing Yuan banner will therefore force people who were on the fence to ultimately swipe their cards in order to not miss out on such an astonishing banner when it debuts a few weeks later. If you are still debating whether to pull the Jing Yuan banner or the Seele banner, I strongly advise you to hold off for the first few weeks and pull for Jing Yun when he arrives on May 17, 2023. Because it is, if I may venture a guess, the best value for Stellar Jades banner you will find in a while.
Honkai Star Rail Jing Yuan banner will additionally introduce three 4-star characters
After Seele’s was banner released on April 26th and ending by May 17th, Jing Yuan will lead the next banner release. The Jing Yuan banner will have three 4-stars comprising of Sushang (The Hunt-Physical), Tingyun (The Harmony-Lightning), and March 7th (The Preservation-Ice).
Sushang is the best 4-star single-target DPS who is notably fast, thanks to The Hunt path. She has an explosive ultimate with a massive sword that summons a gigantic chicken to stomp your enemies along the way.
Tingyun is looking to be the best 4-star support that we have right now, she has massive buffs to enable any dps to deal explosive damage. She can be on par and sometimes even better than Bronya in some situations. Along with bronya, your team will gain a massive amount of buffs making your DPS deal tremendous damage and not give your enemies a chance.
March 7th is introduced at the beginning of the game and we get to experience the lively energy she emits along our adventure. She is a solid support with amazing shielding and freeze capabilities to delay the enemies in their tracks. Basically, some of the greatest 4-stars available. This alone will cause the banner to be worth it but then we come to the real treat.
