Honor of Kings, the ever-popular multiplayer online battle arena or MOBA game is going to add another game to its impressive franchise. Known internationally as Arena of Valor, Honor of Kings is one of the most popular games of its kind in the world and is surely one with a large and dedicated fan following. And now Honor of Kings is adding a fighting game based on its universe and for now, it is Codenamed Breaking dawn.
The announcement was a part of the 7th anniversary live stream of Honor Kings where Tencent Games also revealed many things about Honor of Kings: World, announced a new auto-chess title named King’s Chess, and showcased an animation project based on the HOK IP.
Codename Breaking Dawn is much like Smash Bros
In an announcement on their official Weibo page, Honor of Kings announced that the game Codename Breaking Dawn is apparently in work and is in the plans for being among the next set of games that will be released by Tencent Games and TiMi Studios. The game will follow the PvP or the player-against-player online gaming format and will pitch players into fighting each other.
The characters in the game will be from the Honor of Kings or the HoK franchise and will be an entirely different title from the original game and not related in any way except for the origins of the characters and lore if any.
In the game, time and space will come together and bring more opponents to the arena as stated in the announcement. The first-look trailers have been released officially and if the game stays true to those trailers, then we are in for a hell of a ride.
Breaking Dawn release date
As per the official sources and leaks, there is no confirmed or rumored release date for the Honor of Kings fighting game that is Codenamed Breaking Dawn. Although, the trailer announcement came almost a year later after it was first confirmed that the game is being worked on, back in the year 2021. And if anything like it, we will get this game around halfway through next year, that is, 2023, or maybe towards the end of it in Q4.
Getting a spinoff game of a franchise of the caliber of Honor of Kings is surely a piece of great news for anyone who is much into gaming. It is also PvP, meaning that it will explore other areas of action apart from the original MOBA format of the game. All in all, it is a pretty exciting announcement and it involves a game we can barely for to come out.
