Indian Government reportedly agrees to lift the ban on BGMI for a limited time

KRAFTON had been putting a lot of effort to unban BGMI in India ever since the ban was imposed, and had even announced that it is trying to unban the popular Battle Royale in 2023. However, things look really positive as the Indian Government has reportedly agreed to lift its ban on BGMI for a limited time.

BGMI will be undergoing a few changes to comply with the rules of the Indian Government

According to the sources, Krafton had a meeting with the government to discuss the uplifting of the ban on the game. The Indian Government has given a green signal to this request for removing the ban on BGMI, but for a limited time, and also only after a few changes were implemented in the game.

One of the main conditions that have been put out is the “no blood” gameplay. The company has agreed to this and has informed government officials that there will be no blood in the game and it will be changed to a different color. Along with that, there will be some changes concerning game addiction and therefore requested bringing relevant changes to the server.

Krafton had a struggling Q4 which was affected by the BGMI ban

BGMI was one of Krafton’s major revenue sources and their recent Q4 revenue report showed that they have struggled since the ban on BGMI in India. Krafton had to revive BGMI as soon as possible, and the time might be nearing soon.

Things still remain unclear whether the main cause of the ban still remains. For those who do not know, BGMI was banned because there were concerns about data sharing and mining in China. So, we still need to understand whether the communication is still with China on the player details.

Although the dates of the comeback are still not clear, the fans can rejoice at this moment as their favorite title might be back on their mobile screens soon.
