- Krafton India surveys hint at possible BGMI Lite development and in-game ads testing.
- Players were asked about ad placements and Lite-specific gameplay expectations.
- BGMI Lite could target low-end devices and a more casual battle royale audience.
KRAFTON India seems to be testing the waters for something new around Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI). A BGMI Lite version is reportedly in the making, with a new survey asking players their opinion on the same alongside other queries.
Over the past few days, players have reported receiving detailed surveys inside BGMI, asking about in-game bugs, server issues, and overall gameplay experience. What stood out, however, were questions related to in-game advertisements and a separate section focused entirely on BGMI Lite.
PUBG Mobile already has a “lite” version, but it is not playable in India
The survey asked players where ads would feel least intrusive and what kind of features they would expect if a Lite version were to exist. This suggests that KRAFTON India may be exploring two parallel ideas: introducing ads inside BGMI and possibly working on a BGMI Lite version for a different audience.

There’s also another reason behind a call for the “lite” version. The global version of BGMI, PUBG Mobile, already has PUBG MOBILE LITE. However, just like PUBG Mobile itself, Indian players cannot access the Lite version.
Despite being a trimmed-down version of the original, PUBG MOBILE LITE stands strong on its own. It is designed for devices with limited storage and RAM, offering shorter matches, smaller maps, and faster gameplay. The Lite version also includes Arena modes, team-based play, and built-in anti-cheat systems.
If BGMI Lite does arrive, you can expect a similar concept but with a slightly different experience. It would likely target low-end devices, catering to more casual battle royale players. There is also a strong belief that this could aim to attract players from games like Garena’s Free Fire.

For now, the makers have not officially announced anything. But if this happens, BGMI Lite could be a strong inclusion for players who want something not-so-huge in terms of scale, visuals, or game size. You can take the official survey here.
