Marvel Future Revolution was announced in March 2020 to be releasing globally in the 2nd half of 2021 as the franchise’s first open-world MMORPG. The game will be made by Netmarble, creator of such games as Lineage2, Seven Knights, and Marvel Future Fight to name a few. Today gamers were lucky as we were given an entire gameplay segment from Marvel Future Revolution featuring “The Golden Avenger” Ironman himself!
All the favorite Marvel heroes are playable at launch
The gameplay segment starts with the user selecting which character they’d like to use, judging from the silhouettes given, you can tell some of the characters to be available. Dr. Strange, Spiderman, Captain Marvel, and Captain America are all shown to be playable on this screen, with some of them managing to be shown off in-game as well. These characters were all also shown off in the first in-game reveal.
Following the character select we are given a character introduction screen and then thrust into the gameplay segment. The game maintains similar a third-person camera as to what we’ve become accustomed to in superhero games. However, the new character models are much more high fidelity and you wouldn’t be far off to call these console or pc quality graphics.
The arrival of the Golden Avenger
Iron Man shows off a huge arsenal of abilities, such as lasers, force fields, and even melee combat. In the background of one scene, you can see Captain America performing attacks alongside Ironman, so we’re able to see some supposed co-op if not just an ai-controlled companion. The enemies we can see from the gameplay are just Ultron robots and AIM workers. But it’s been confirmed that we will be fighting villains from all over the Marvel universe. This game looks really promising so far and it can be a very good addition to all the marvel style games we have currently on mobile.
Nothing else was given to us besides this gameplay demonstration, unfortunately. When put in conjunction with what we already do know and further confirmation that the game is indeed coming out in 2020, it really makes this a good time to be a Marvel fan.
