MOONTON’s popular MOBA, Mobile Legends, has announced its kick-off events for this year. Collaborating with the Esports World Cup, the title will feature two events on the grand stage. With the announcement of both the Mobile Legends Mid Season Cup (MSC) and the MLBB Women’s Invitational (MWI), the 2024 esports year is going to watch a massive hike.
The events will be held outside Southeast Asia for the very first time in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. From the 28th of June 2024, the event will start its run where teams will fight for the glory.
Mobile Legends Mid Season Cup (MSC) 2024: Schedule and Format
The MSC 2024 will have two events, the other one is for the Women’s Invitational, and the schedule has been released for the events. Let’s take a look at the schedule of the MSC 2024.

The wild card stage will feature a total of 8 teams. With 4 teams in a group, BO1 matches will take place in Single Round Robin format. The top team from each group will face off in a BO5 match, called the decider.
After the end of the wildcard stage, the group stage will begin. 16 teams into four groups will fight BO2 matches in a single round-robin format. The top 2 from each group will advance to the knockout stage. The rest of the teams will be eliminated.
As the event moves forward, the final stage, Playoffs, will take place between the 10th of July and the 14th. The remaining 8 teams from the group stage will play in a single-elimination bracket, all the matches will be BO5. However, the grand final will be a BO7, similar to the other mainstream events of MLBB esports. The winning team will wear the crown of the MSC 2024 champion.

The MSC 2024 will feature 16 teams where 15 will be from direct qualifiers and the top teams from the regional events. Following the M5 World Championship, this event will also feature the Wildcard stage where 8 teams will fight for a place in the main stage.

Prize Pool
A massive amount of USD 3,000,000 will be shared among the teams and they’ll be awarded according to their placements after the completion. This is the largest-ever prize pool in MLBB competitive history. Besides, MWI 2024 will feature one of the biggest prize pools for women’s esports. A total of USD 500,000 will be given to the teams. However, the allocation of prize money is as follows.

With this new event, the MLBB Southeast Asia Cup is replaced. Mobile Legends Mid Season Cup (MSC) 2024 is the second highest tier event for the title’s esports events. The M6 World Championship is the highest tournament for professional MLBB teams. This year’s event will be held in Malaysia. The inclusion of the title in the Esports World Cup will globally affect mobile esports as Saudi is planning to build a proper esports city and plans to take esports to a whole new level.

Selangor Red Giants becomes the champion of MSC 2024
Selangor Red Giants has won the champion trophy of the event, adding their first international trophy to the cabinet. The team defeated the runner-up Falcons AP.Bren by a 4-3 scoreline. Falcons was looking to be the winner and got a clear upper hand after the first 3 rounds but the Giants quickly turned the tide in their favor. Winning three matches in the final four rounds, the team took the trophy home. Sekys from the champion team became the MVP of the event.
