In a shocking announcement, Bandai Namco announced that its long-running fortress strategy action RPG Naruto X Boruto Ninja Voltage will shut down on December 9th, 2024. At the time of writing, you will still be able to download and play the game until the final closure of the title.
Several events are planned by the makers before the shut down of Naruto X Boruto Ninja Voltage
Released back in 2017, Naruto X Boruto Ninja Voltage was an instant hit. The game combines elements from two iconic anime series, Naruto Shippuden and Boruto: Naruto Next Generations. The game also has an element of fortress-building strategy mixed with fast-paced shinobi (ninja) action.
You can build and defend your ninja fortresses while invading others, using powerful ninjutsu and recruiting fan-favorite characters such as Naruto, Sasuke, and Boruto. The game also has multiplayer modes where you can team up in guilds to take on missions, fight giant bosses, and have a go at the competitive rankings.
That said, the game has been viral for seven years and has been critically acclaimed by the players. So, the End of Service announcement does come as a surprise and shock for the players. Even though an official reason wasn’t shared, a few players shared that the game’s mismanagement and worsening stability are contributing factors to the game’s demise.
As announced by the makers, the game’s services will officially end on December 9th, 2024. Several events have been planned to give players a memorable send-off:
- Village Leader World Championship: October 8th to October 18th, 2024
- All-Out Mission: October 18th to November 1st, 2024
- Various Thanks For Everything Campaigns: November 1st to December 1st, 2024
In addition, you can continue to collect Ninja Cards and participate in summon events before the game’s end of service. You can use in-game items as well. The developers have expressed their gratitude to the loyal fanbase who have supported the game over the years.
