SpotX Games was created in January 2022 by Galina Fendikevich, Traci Levine, Jackson Harris, Chris Daniels, and David Woodward, a tiny but mighty team of five who met during Miami Hack Week. Chris, a Miami Tech alumnus and founder of The Shrimp Society, a non-profit that assists early-stage entrepreneurs, hosted a “hack” house that brought together coders and creatives from all walks of life.

A unifying concept emerged during a brainstorming session: to establish a scavenger hunt across the many “hack” residences, with players charged with uncovering concealed QR codes containing NFTs and collecting as many as they could. Shrimp Games, as it was known, was the talk of Hack Week, inspiring the crew to stick together and begin development on SpotX Games.
