Pokemon GO August Content Update: Pokemon GO Fest 2022, Community Day, and more

August is going to be full of adventures!

The August 2022 content Update adds a slew of new events to Pokemon GOTrainers can get all the information they need here. As the month of July draws to a close, Niantic has announced the numerous activities that trainers will be able to participate in throughout the month of August. In August, a new season will begin, bringing with it a slew of exciting new activities for Pokemon GO. We’ve gone over them in depth below, so have a look at everything you will get to play.

Pokemon GO Fest 2022 is coming to an end this month

In the month of July, the Pokemon GO Fest 2022 will come to an end. Trainers will get the opportunity to meet the Mythical Pokemon Shaymin during the two-day event. It will make its debut in Pokemon GO at this event and is also known as the Gratitude Pokemon.

  • Pokemon GO Fest: Sapporo – From Friday, August 5, 2022, to Sunday, August 7, 2022, Pokémon GO Fest comes to Sapporo, Japan! Explore the city and Nakajima Park in these two days.
  • Pokémon GO Fest 2022: Finale – Stay tuned for more details on the global finale event taking place on August 27th, 2022

This August, players will be getting another Community Day of 2022 in Pokemon GO where trainers will see Galarian Zigzagoon, the Tiny Raccoon Pokémon, and its appearance in the wild. The Community Day will also have many bonuses and research tasks and, many more running on Saturday, August 13, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. local time.

Pokemon GO: Upcoming events in August 2022

  • Bug Out!: Creepy and crawly? Or cute and cuddly? Decide for yourself when this event featuring Bug-type Pokémon returns from Wednesday, August 10, 2022, to Tuesday, August 16, 2022.
  • 2022 Pokémon World Championships event: The 2022 Pokémon World Championships will feature Pokémon GO for the very first time, and we’re holding an in-game celebration from Thursday, August 18, 2022, to Tuesday, August 23, 2022! Keep an eye out for more details.

The following Pokémon will be appearing in raids throughout August.

Five-Star Raids

The Legendary Pokémon Palkia, Zacian, Zamazenta, and the Mythical Pokémon Genesect will return to five-star raids this August! Please note that Raid rotations all start and end at 10:00 a.m. local time on the dates listed unless otherwise noted.

Mega Raids

Mega Slowbro, Mega Ampharos, and Mega Abomasnow will appear in Mega Raids! But more surprises are in store.

Raid Hours

Every Wednesday in August, a Raid Hour event will occur from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. local time. The following Pokémon will be featured.

August Research Breakthrough encounters

From Monday, August 1, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. PDT (GMT −7) to Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. PDT (GMT −7), Galarian Stunfisk will be available.

Pokémon Spotlight Hours

In the month of August, Pokémon Spotlight Hour will take place every Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. local time, and each will spotlight a different Pokémon and a special bonus!

Language selection will be rolling out this month in the Pokemon GO August 2022 update

Soon, Trainers will be able to change their language settings in Pokémon GO! Trainers will be able to play Pokémon GO in their language of choice, regardless of the language used on their device. The following languages will be available when this setting launches.

  • English
  • French
  • German
  • Italian
  • Japanese
  • Korean
  • Portuguese (Brazilian)
  • Russian
  • Spanish
  • Thai
  • Turkish
  • Traditional Chinese

Trainers will need to close and reopen Pokémon GO for any language changes to take effect.
