Pokemon GO: Niantic confirms a major issue in the Raids involving Mega Latios and Latias

Major set back for the trainers!

Today the Pokemon GO’s Adventure event went live, from the last glimpse of this scheduled event it was clear that the players will be given the ability to obtain the Mega Evolutions for the Legendary Pokemon Mega Latios and Mega Latias. It was a long-awaited event and a lot of players joined the battle. However, there was a serious issue with the raids of Mega Latios and Latias in Pokemon Go.

The Mega Raid turned out to be a big mess and an utter failure

It seems a lot of players have encountered an issue with Mega Raids in a battle involving Latios and Latias in Pokemon GO. The issue was such that even after defeating the Pokemon, the countdown timer didn’t stop. So no one got the chance to catch the Pokemon. This Raid turned out to be a big loss. Niantic confirmed the issue and is working on the solution.

We are aware of and investigating the issue where after defeating Mega Latios or Mega Latias in a battle, the countdown timer continues to run and the raid is failed,” the company wrote on Twitter.

A lot of people reported the same issue but it’s unclear even now. But as Niantic has directly confirmed the issue, it must be something serious. This issue caused a set of disturbances throughout. The event ends on May 8th so hopefully, Niantic resolves it as soon as possible.

Pokemon Go players now need one Mega energy for the evolution of Mega Latios and Latias

Mega Latias and Mega Latios were first introduced in Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, which were released on Nintendo 3DS in 2014. The Mega evolution was launched back in 2020 but it was given a major overhaul in-game last week.

Both Mega Latias and Mega Latios are psychic or dragon types so they have the same weakness regardless of the form they take. These Pokemon are vulnerable to ice, dark, ghost, bug, fairy, and other dragon types which makes it pretty much clear as to what to choose when battling them.

Earlier pokemon had to have Mega energy every time a player wanted to Mega Evolve them but since last week, players only need Mega Energy to Mega Evolve one time and then Mega Evolve for free after a cool-down period.
