Like every year, Niantic is promoting a healthy environment for people with their annual Sustainability week event in Pokémon Go, for the year 2022. Through the annual Sustainability week, there will be events from Niantic to spread awareness about sustainable lifestyle and celebrate Earth Day with new content for players to work on.

Pokémon Go Annual Sustainability Week Event 2022: Overview

Pokémon Go’s annual sustainability week features Pokémon that have ties to nature, like Grass-type, or species that deal with human influence, like Trubbish and Grimer. The Annual Sustainability Week for 2022 will begin on April 20th, 2022, and will end on April 25th, and will witness the debut of both Oranguru and Shiny Cherubi.

Oranguru relates things back to the season of Alola, and Niantic is also running a trip to Hawaii Sweepstakes throughout the event, to celebrate this season of content too.

Like any other longer event, players will have event-exclusive research and a collection challenge. On the other hand, for the Earth Day celebration, Niantic has planned something socially eventful. Players who have clocked 5km or more in walking, during the Stufful Community Day Event on April 23, Niantic will plant a tree and a total of 100,000 trees in the event.
