Pokémon Go is one of the most active games across the world. The game has been doing great since launch because of a loyal fan base, actively playing the game day in and day out. The content on the game receives constant updates with new events and collaborations. Now, the Pokémon Go x Pokémon TCG crossover event is officially here. Here are the details regarding the collection challenges, field research tasks, and more.

The Pokémon TCG crossover event aims at celebrating the release of the Pokémon Go themed-card expansion card. Since we all know that Pokémon Go is mostly about collection challenges, the event starts with six collection challenges and three additional collection challenges will be added later. The event is not entirely about collection challenges, the Pokémon TCG Crossover event will also feature field research tasks and the release of Golisopod and Wimpod in Pokémon Go. 

Collection Challenges

1. Bulbasaur Collection Challenge

Bulbasaur Collection Challenge is a part of the Pokémon TCG crossover event. To be able to add this challenge to players’ Elite Collectors Medal, players will have to complete the challenge by 8 pm on June 30. On completing the challenge players will earn 1000 XP and a Venusaur encounter. Pokémon in Bulbasaur collection challenge and how to find them:

  • Bulbasaur: Can be found in the Wild.
  • TCG Hat Pikachu: In the Wild or through a field research task.
  • Aipom: Can be found in the wild.
  • Wimpod: in the wild and or through a field research task.
  • Spinarak: can be found in the wild.

2. Charmander Collection Challenge

If players want to earn this challenge’s rewards they will have to complete it by 8 pm, June 30. On completing the challenge, players will earn 1000 XP and a Charizard encounter. Pokémon in Charmander Collection Challenge and how to find them:

  • Charmander: Can be found in the wild.
  • Alolan Ratatta: can be found in the wild.
  • Magikarp: can be found in the wild.
  • TCG Hat Pikachu: in the wild or through a field research task.
  • Numel: can be found in the wild.

3. Squirtle Collection Challenge

If players want to earn this challenge’s rewards they will have to complete it by 8 pm, June 30th. On completing the challenge, players will earn 1000 XP and a Blastoise encounter. Pokémon in Squirtle collection challenge and how to find them:

  • Squirtle: Can be found in the wild.
  • Eevee: can be found in the wild.
  • TCG Hat Pikachu: in the Wild or through a field research task.
  • Bidoof: can be found in the wild.
  • Slowpoke: can be found in the wild.

Advanced Collection Challenge

If players want to earn this challenge’s rewards they will have to complete it by 8 pm, June 30. On completing the challenge, players will earn 10000 XP and a Meltan encounter. Pokémon in the Advanced Collection Challenge, along with how to find them:

  • Blastoise: Via trade.
  • Charizard: via trade.
  • Venasaur: via trade
  • Slaking: in the wild or through a field research task.
  • Snorlax: in the wild or through a field research task.
  • Dragonite: in the wild or through a field research task.

Solrock and Lunatone, which are regionally specific Pokémon, will appear worldwide during the Pokémon TCG crossover event. Once the event is over, Lunatone will swap regions to the Western Hemisphere and Solrock will swap regions to the Eastern Hemisphere.

Pokémon TCG Crossover Research Field Tasks

Players can spin PokeStops during the Pokémon TCG Crossover event to access exclusive field research tasks. Players can complete these field research tasks to easily complete collection challenges. Pokémon TCG Crossover field research tasks:

  • Catch 10 Pokémon: X5 Pinap berries or X3 Razz berries.
  • Catch 15 Pokémon: Wortortle encounter, Ivysaur or Charmeleon.
  • Catch 25 Pokémon: Blastoise encounter, Venusaur, or Charizard.
  • Catch 40 Pokémon: Slaking Encounter, Snorpax, or Dragonite.
  • Transfer 10 Pokémon: X5 Pokeballs
  • Trade a Pokémon: TCG Hat Pikachu encounter.
  • Spin 5 PokeStops or Gym: Wimpod encounter.

Apart from this, players can expect to see Chansey, Larvitar, Wimpod, and Timbur in one-star raids and Slaking, Dragonite, Snorlax, and Alolan Exeguttor in three-star raids.
