After the end of Clash Heroes, Project R.I.S.E was announced as a rebrand, and we had a very good first impression of the action RPG roguelite by Supercell. Well, the game’s dynamic gameplay hinted at a possible future on the PC platform, and Supercell is currently aligning with this vision by making Project R.I.S.E a cross-platform project.
In the recent interview with Supercell’s Community Manager Vladislav P, who is known as Frame and Game Lead Julian Le Cadre on the ECHO Gaming YouTube channel, the team discussed the exciting developments surrounding their upcoming title, Project R.I.S.E.
Project R.I.S.E was playable while connected to a Bluetooth controller during the pre-alpha
Supercell aims to blend its signature Clash universe with action RPG elements to create a unique and energetic experience. Frame and Julien emphasized their goal of turning the vibrant marketing materials into a dynamic interactive experience, much like the lively Clash animations like Clash-a-Rama.
This also marks Supercell’s first game using Unreal Engine, which is seen as a positive move for speed and feature access, although the team is still adjusting to new workflows, confirmed Julian. They also discussed how the team is working on making Project Rise accessible for casual players while offering depth for more dedicated players.
Moving to the heart of the matter, ECHO mentioned how fitting the Project R.I.S.E game would be for PC from Supercell, for which Julian added: “It makes a lot of sense for the genre. The primary platform is going to be mobile, still, we’re not ruling out PC right now. Of course, it does make a lot of sense for the audience to go across platforms, we’ll see if we can do it.”
However, adding to Julian’s words, Frame shared a fun fact that during the pre-alpha test, the game was playable while connected to a Bluetooth controller on their phone. Although it wasn’t a perfect experience since you couldn’t execute super attacks since they haven’t mapped their controls, it demonstrated the hints for cross-platform play of Project R.I.S.E.
Well, there isn’t this 100% confirmation as the same, surely, the cross-platform can be a game-changer, offering players enhanced graphics, more precise controls, and a richer gaming experience. Supercell has already tried its hand in bringing its top two strategy games, Clash of Clans and Clash Royale on the PC platform now available to download, and Project R.I.S.E can be heading for the same.
