PUBG Mobile 1.6 beta update: How to download and play

New features and map changes to be included in this updates

As all regular players and followers of the popular battle royale game PUBG Mobile know, the developers release the beta of the upcoming updates of the game beforehand to collect reviews and fix the bugs and glitches if any based on the performance of the beta. This time it’s no different as the developers of PUBG Mobile have rolled out another beta for the upcoming 1.6 updates of the game. The beta is featuring the new events which will be available in the game when the update is live along with changes to the mechanisms and maps if any.

The 1.6 updates are lauded to be important because they will feature the comeback of the snow map, Vikendi, a 6×6 map that used to be especially popular among rank pushers. The map which was removed from the game earlier this year to make changes to it and bring it up to date with the PC version of the game was missed by many players due to its unique gameplay owing to the terrain of the map. Being called Vikendi 2.0, the map will feature changes of a caliber similar to the Erangel 2.0 update.

That is, there will be minor to major changes in the textures of the buildings and terrain, with some changes also applying to the existing compounds and map environment. The amount of snow on the map will be reduced and will feature wide patches of dead, brown vegetation which generally appears after snow melts. There will also be prominent changes in the Dino Park location. But there’s a catch as of now, that is, the reported updates are not showing up in the beta, and Vikendi still appears just like it was before it got removed. Thus it is unclear whether the map will be added along with the changes to it in the 1.6 update or if it will just feature the map and the changes will be added later. Also, the Payload Mode has also been added to the beta, thus hinting at its comeback in-game.
