Fight for securing a place in PMPL SEA Championship begins!

It is another season of PMPL knocking at the door. We’re talking about the PUBG Mobile Pro League (PMPL) Thailand is back with Season 4, which will start rolling from the last week of August 2021. The tournament is not a mere regional championship but will also act as a stage for the teams to grab a slot in the PMPL Regional Championship and later, on the most glamorous event of PUBG Mobile, the PMGC.

“We never stop improving to deliver the finest PUBG Mobile tournament format to our fans who have been following us throughout the year,” said Oliver Ye, the regional director of PUBG Mobile in Southeast Asia.

PUBG Mobile PMPL Thailand Season 4: Tournament Format

The initial stage of the tournament is its league play. Teams will fight for three consecutive weeks. Following the previous PMPL, it is very likely that the league matches will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday. The top 16 teams with the highest points from each week’s league play will compete into the super weekend from Friday to Sunday of that week.

After three weeks, the top 16 teams that gathered the highest points from Super Weekends only, will qualify for the Country Finals. The top 3 teams from the Country Finals, along with the champions from the league stage will directly participate in the PMPL SEA Championship.

Becoming the champion will not ensure a slot in PMGC, because the invitation to PMGC will be based upon the total points gained from PMPL Season 3 and Season 4. But, it will surely keep a team ahead in the race.

Schedule

The tournament will start on the 24th of August, 2021 and will end on the 26th of September, 2021. There are two stages, namely League Play and Super Weekend. The three-week league play and super weekend each week will take place between 24th August 2021 to the 26th of September, 2021. The top 16 teams will qualify for Country Finals Thailand, based on Super Weekend points.

Prize Pool

PMPL Thailand will feature a total ฿2,500,000 THB (nearly $76,000). It is yet to be announced how the teams will split the prize pool, based on their standings.
