PUBG: New State, the futuristic-style multiplayer online battle royale video game developed by PUBG Studios and published by Krafton, has completed its pre-seasons and started rolling out major updates with brand new game modes and many quality of life updates. Recently, the official PUBG New State social handle and website of the game started addressing the game as New State Mobile, which might be a nod towards a possible PC release. Previously it was just known as PUBG New State.
PUBG New State renamed
The game was actually called PUBG New State ever since its announcement. But now the name has changed to New State Mobile on their official website. The change doesn’t just stop there. Even on their official Twitter, they have started addressing the game as New State Mobile in their recent tweets.
The possible PC release of PUBG: New State mobile
This rebranding could mean that there might be a PC version of New State under development. So they are specifying the mobile version as New State Mobile. On the other hand, they could have just rebranded it as New Mobile since it’s a mobile game and many PUBG PC players think of New State as a PC game since it’s from the same studio.
If it’s the first one then this game might be one of the games to be ported from mobile to PC, which is rare and usually is vice versa. If the game gets ported we can also expect a console version of the game.
But the chances of getting cross-play compatibility between PC and mobile is highly unlikely since the developers made it clear that they want to prioritize touch control for the mobile version over keyboard and mouse in their media showcase. This is one of the main reasons why the game still doesn’t support emulators or controllers till now.
