Riot Games have announced an equity investment in Paris-based animation studio Fortiche Production, which was also was responsible for Arcane, the official League of Legends series on Netflix, and numerous League of Legends-related videos. The two longtime partners are now officially working on future projects.
Riot Games now owns a significant non-controlling stake in the studio with the new equity investment. Riot’s Director of Corporate Development Brendan Mulligan and Riot’s Chief Content Officer Brian Wright have joined Fortiche’s board of directors.
The new equity investment in Fortiche Productions makes sense as Arcane swept the charts across the globe, standing #1 on Netflix globally in November 2021 and constantly staying in the top 10 in over 52 countries. Arcane also showed sheer dominance at the Annie awards by winning nine trophies in each of the categories it was nominated for.
