- The title change is to comply with China's localization requirements.
- The game stays true to the iconic series with classic shooting action, Mega Man's signature moves, and new features.
RockMan: Time Rift, an action RPG developed under Capcom, is now open for pre-registration in China for mobile. The early info was supposed to indicate the game was a new one, but it seems like this is the Chinese version of the Mega Man X DiVE, which shut down services last year on September 27, 2023, after which an offline version was also released.
RockMan: Time Rift brings the iconic Mega Man X series to life
Based on the iconic Mega Man X series, the game brings a fresh world while staying true to the classic gameplay you know and love. We get classic horizontal shooting action with Mega Man’s signature moves, including sprinting, jumping, and using the hand cannon and lightsaber. Plus, the game adds modern features like 360-degree shooting and automatic aiming for a smoother experience.
You’ll also be able to collect over 100 Mega Man characters, each with stunning new visuals. The game includes a detailed reinforcement system, where you can enhance characters and unlock new abilities as you progress. The game will come with more than 100 levels, each with its own unique challenges to beat.
While the new title was a talk of how a new Mega Man title was emerging, this game, originally known as Rockman X DiVE, has just been renamed to comply with China regulations. The title change comes after NebulaJoy, the game’s developer, revealed the new branding following the need for localization to meet China’s approval standards. So if you have played the global version before, no need to go for this.
Players from China can now access and pre-register for the game here. The release date in the region hasn’t been confirmed yet, so stay tuned for official updates via the official website.
