Squad Busters September 2025 update: New features and additions explained
New Mode: Monster Trophy
A major highlight of this update is the Monster Trophy mode, which introduces a fresh way to play. In this mode, squads are randomly generated, but players can still select their starting squaddies and heroes.

The objective is to gather 500 gems, which unlocks the ability to claim the central trophy and transform into a monster kaiju. Once transformed, you must survive for 30 seconds while everyone else hunts you down. The mode also features a leaderboard to track best times and performances.
Lucky Boxes bring new rewards
Lucky Boxes are also being added as a new progression and reward system. You can earn up to five tiers of rewards: Common, Rare, Epic, Mythic, and Legendary boxes through daily wins, quests, and event participation.

Each tier offers different rewards, ranging from coins, chest doublers, and hero points to exclusive emotes, skins, and even new heroes. Better boxes provide higher chances of upgrading to rarer tiers, creating excitement with every unlock.
Squad Busters October 2025 Sneakpeeks
While September might be just a few new additions, October is shaping up to be more fun, as per the Roadmap shared by the developers.
PEKKA joins as the newest hero
PEKKA arrives as a fighter hero, bringing huge power to the battlefield with 600 damage per second and 10,000 health. Her abilities revolve around her “Fissure” smash, which creates powerful ground attacks that grow stronger at higher power levels, with a total of 5.
Her traits also make her more dangerous, with critical hits, butterfly-based buffs, and extra health, while her turbo makes her immune to stuns and pushbacks, which makes her the first hero to get this kind of buff.
Bandit gets her Ultimate form
The Bandit is set to achieve her ultimate form in October, which will elevate her coin-generating ability to the next level. While she previously only dropped coins by defeating monsters, in her ultimate form, she generates two coins every three seconds.
Arcade Blitz mode
The October update also brings the Arcade Blitz mode, set in a new arcade-themed world. Unlike the standard battles, there are no limits to squad size, and squaddies don’t fuse. You start with a hero and grow your team endlessly while collecting gems.
This gameplay mode introduces fresh dynamics, as abilities stack with multiple units of the same type, leading to rapid-fire power activations. Based on this mode, several characters are getting new looks with silver and gold skins.
