Trailmix, the London-based developer behind Love & Pies, a popular puzzle-solving casual free-to-play title has now received an investment of $60 million from Supercell, after the first investment of more than $4 Million back when the studio was still starting out in 2018.
Supercell to guide Trailmix Studio in their future projects
The official Medium post says: “Today is a momentous day for us because we can finally tell the world that Supercell has acquired a majority stake in Trailmix and has committed $60 million in the financing, which is a testament to our incredible team and the success of Love & Pies!”
Leaving all of the other cheesy fluff from the post aside, some of the other key points include Trailmix’s commitment since their conception to bring together a talented and diverse team, and combine the best of casual free to play gaming with great storytelling which they refer to as snackable yet nourishing fun and have a positive impact.
The studio, which has more than 30 employees from various diverse backgrounds, will still operate independently but they’ll have the support and backing of Supercell to guide them and propel their games into success as diversity is quite a big thing for this studio.
In case you aren’t aware of Trailmix’s work so far, they were the co-creators of Farm Heroes alongside King, one of the biggest mobile developer studios with franchises like Candy Crush under their belt, and recently launched Love & Pies last year, which received quite a bit of support from mobile gamers. It should be interesting to see the projects that they come up with going forward.
