Toon Blast maker Peak Games hits $5 billion revenue milestone

A major milestone!

Peak Games, the Turkey-based developer known for their puzzle and casual titles has attained a new landmark by hitting the $5 billion revenue milestone. Peak Games has had several hit titles, including Toon Blast, Toy Blast, Match Factory!, Lost Bubble, and Lost Jewels.

Thanks to the report shared by AppMagic, I’ve learned about this news. Along the same, there are other discussions about the breakdown of this $5 billion revenue milestone from Peak Games which I will simplify and explain to you.

Peak Games’ revenue boost comes from Toon Blast and Toy Blast

Toon Blast and Toy Blast are arguably their two biggest games, each boasting over 150 million downloads and the best-reviewed ones too. According to the data shared in the report, these two games contribute significantly to their revenue; 60% from Toon Blast and 37% from Toy Blast, which isn’t a surprise, but there’s more to it.

Over the years, both games saw a gradual decline in user spending, with no new projects taking off. Hence, in 2021, they tried boosting it with Star Blast, their next release, but it didn’t gain much traction and was eventually discontinued. However, things took a turn in October 2023 when Toon Blast’s revenue surged.

In just five months, its monthly in-app purchase (IAP) revenue doubled from $13 million to $26 million and has stayed strong ever since. Around the same time, Match Factory! was released in September 2023. By November, it became a leading title in the Match 3D market, generating $15 million in monthly net IAP revenue.

Match Factory! even outpaced Toon Blast in downloads, with 2.5 million installs in June 2024. The report attributes this success to Peak Games’ expertise in metagame and monetization strategies, from their experience with Match-2 games. This success might result in the developer pulling the trigger to release more games in the genre, as Casual Gaming is always seen as bankable.
