Tower of Fantasy, Perfect World’s open-world MMORPG, launched in China late last year and recently announced an upcoming global release in February, is set to launch the game’s English version worldwide in the third quarter of this year (Between July and September). And according to the recent iOS App Store listing, Tower of Fantasy is expected to release globally on August 11, 2022.
Fight Monsters and kill Machines in this open-world MMORPG
There’s no exact date yet but the official announcement tweet says that a release date is coming soon. This is good news for the MMORPG enthusiasts, who were eagerly waiting for this title, designed in UE4 and promises immersive gameplay and visuals.
While the open-world element gives it another layer of exciting gameplay, similar to Genshin Impact. The game features a big open fantasy world, where players will have to fight monsters and machines out for the kill. The combat in the game is fast-paced while there’s space for exploration in its open world.
Speaking of Genshin Impact though, Tower of Fantasy was caught doing some rather unsavory things. They were first caught using assets from Honkai Impact 3rd, then stealing App Store reviews from Genshin Impact. They were also caught using a smaller content creator’s video as their promotional video without any permission.
This is quite shady and not something you’d expect from a studio like Perfect World but at least after its global release, players would finally be able to figure out if the game is worth playing and a good competitor to HoYoverse’s Genshin Impact and Honkai Impact 3rd.
Tower of Fantasy had a great launch in China despite its wrongdoings but the title looks good enough to be on the same level as the bigger open-world MMOs. There is finally good news for Global players as they can now start pre-registering for the game on both Android and iOS, or on the game’s official website. Additionally, on pre-registering, there are additional rewards based on milestones that will be given out to all gamers post-launch.
