Developer Vanimals started their narrative-driven zombie survival adventure game Undying about three years ago. Now, ahead of the game’s launch on iOS, Android, Nintendo Switch, XBOX, and PlayStation, it will be available on Steam Early Access on the 19th of October, 2021. Undying is planned to be released in early 2022. It will be featuring an emotional story along with testing the players on their survival skills in a zombie world.
A heart-touching story to tell the players
Most of the zombie survival titles are drowned in a story or objectives where players keep progressing to just survive. But Undying plays different here as the players will take the role of a mother, Anling, who’s been bitten by a zombie. And thus, she has started turning into one slowly. As her days are limited, she must teach her son Cody to survive before it’s too late.
Players must manage limited resources to slow down Anling’s infection while they’ll also be making sure that both Anling and Cody do not starve from hunger or thirst.
Apart from a story about survival and letting go Undying features a top-down view with a real-time day and night cycle, as well as a player-generated world map. The roguelike elements boost replayability, and the incredible soundtrack creates a deep feeling for the characters.
Based on community feedback, the game is designed beautifully in a low poly art style. The story moves on while players can interact with dozens of NPCs. As the developers claimed, they have “strong plans” to keep the game on track.
The game is very promising and so is the hype. We look forward to experiencing another epic story based on a mother and her son’s strong bond. More information can be accessed through the games’ official website, Facebook, and Discord.
