In celebration of the Save And Sound video game music event, Poncle, the developer behind Vampire Survivors, has unveiled a remarkable 10-minute video clip, offering an unprecedented behind-the-scenes glimpse of their enchanting orchestral soundtrack recording.
Vampire Survivors soundtrack gets the orchestral treatment
The soundtrack for Vampire Survivors was composed by Daniele Zandara, with additional creative inputs from Filippo Vicarelli and William Davis. Initially, it was produced using basic digital software. However, owing to the game’s remarkable popularity, Poncle had the opportunity to re-record it with a full-fledged orchestra. This exceptional soundtrack was meticulously recorded through several sessions, featuring the talents of the Budapest Art Orchestra. The most extensive session involved a remarkable assembly of 56 accomplished musicians.
Luca Galante, the founder of Poncle expressed deep gratitude for the role of the soundtrack in Vampire Survivors. He acknowledged, “During the game’s initial development stages, these songs were my constant companions, and I genuinely believe that the game wouldn’t have reached its current state without the invaluable contributions of our talented composers: Danielle, Fillipo, and Will. While it’s theoretically possible for me to have created it without their involvement, it would have undoubtedly suffered.”
In Vampire Survivors, players can embark on a thrilling journey to mow down countless night creatures and strive to survive until the break of dawn. This gothic horror casual game incorporates rogue-lite elements, introducing a dynamic gameplay experience where players’ decisions and actions can lead to rapid advancements in their quest to overpower the hordes of monsters that relentlessly assail them.
