Chiyoda-headquartered game developer Yostar Games is set to launch a brand-new original IP. This will come with the support of their newly formed development team in Japan, specifically focused on mobile games.
As part of this initiative, Yostar is now seeking a candidate for the position of Director to join the core game design team. As per the role description, the Director will be responsible for overseeing the entire development process, from the project’s start to post-launch operations. This role includes planning, quality control, team management, and decision-making based on key performance indicators (KPIs).
Yostar Games is shifting focus to game development after its success in publishing
As mentioned in the announcement, this move signals Yostar’s shift from primarily publishing games to creating original IPs. Their experience as a publisher is commendable, as they have some successful titles like Aether Gazer, Azur Lane, Arknights, and Blue Archive.
However, this isn’t Yostar’s first foray into game development. They previously ventured into creating Nekoparaiten!, an anime-style Neko romance simulation mobile game that has been in development since 2019. Despite the initial excitement, there’s been little news about its progress. Well, calling it “little news” might be an understatement as it’s been six years since the last update.
The real curiosity now lies in what this new game might be. While one could predict Heaven Burns Red, especially with its upcoming English version, that wouldn’t qualify as a new IP. Since their track record of publishing RPGs has been stellar, it won’t be surprising if they arrive with a new role-playing game.
Questions float regarding the genre, the gameplay elements, and even the potential release period; yet all of these details remain unanswered for now.
