Here are some key tips and tricks to help you progress faster and climb chapters more easily in God Rivals: RPG Roguelike.
1. Understand the enemy attack patterns.
God Rivals: RPG Roguelike showcases a wide variety of enemies for you to battle. Be it melee fighters, ranged sorcerers, or even special Bosses, each chapter possesses enemies with different attack patterns. Therefore, to survive these hordes of monsters, you must study their attack patterns, as this will help in dodging incoming hits. The more you dodge, the easier you will survive.
2. Prioritize Ranged Attack weapons
Even though you start by using a sword, on completing the first chapter, you’ll receive a special Bow. This Bow brings lots of utility to the battlefield since you can hit enemies from afar. Another perk is that dodging enemy attacks is much easier to achieve while using a ranged weapon. Regardless of which weapon you use, all that matters is that you can dodge the enemy’s attacks efficiently.
3. Make sure to upgrade your heroes and Gear
To easily progress across each chapter, it is best to continuously upgrade your character. Upgrading your hero requires Hero Shards, which can be gotten from the Shop, or you can get them as bonus rewards on completing a chapter. On accumulating enough shards, you’ll be able to Star-Up your heroes, making them stronger.
Gears in God Rivals are classified into the Epic S, Epic, Rare, Uncommon, and Common tiers. You can get powerful equipment by buying Equipment Chests from the Shop. You will also receive bonus gears whenever you defeat a Boss and complete the chapter.
4. Pick the best blessings from the Gods
On clearing each enemy wave in God Rivals: RPG Roguelike, you’ll receive Blessings from the Gods. All you have to do is choose the type of blessing, as there are 4 different Gods offering buffs in the game. They are highlighted as follows:
- God of Lightning
- God of the Sun (burning attacks)
- God of the Earth (poison attacks)
- God of the Ice (Slow and Freezing attacks)

On reaching some specific stages, you’ll be allowed to exchange the enemy’s Souls that you’ve accumulated. These souls can be exchanged at a Merchant for bonus buffs in the form of equipment. This equipment will only be valid during an actual match and is different from pre-match Gear.
