A Minecraft Movie follows four misfits and their survival adventure
The story follows four “misfits”: Garrett “The Garbage Man” Garrison, Henry, Natalie, and Dawn, who find themselves suddenly transported to the strange, blocky world of Minecraft. After stumbling upon a mysterious portal, they are thrust into the Overworld, a land full of wonder but also lurking dangers like Piglins and Zombies.
To find their way back home, they’ll need to learn how to survive in this strange new world, using creativity and survival skills. With the guidance of an expert crafter named Steve, they set off on a magical journey that challenges their bravery and helps them realize the unique strengths they each have in the real world.
Starring Jack Black and Jason Momoa, whose casting was rumored to be confirmed back in 2022, the chemistry between these two is something to look at. Also joining the stellar cast are Emma Myers, Danielle Brooks, Sebastian Eugene Hansen, and Jennifer Coolidge.
Directed by Jared Hess, the creative team also includes production designer Grant Major, Oscar-winning VFX supervisor Dan Lemmon, and music composed by Mark Mothersbaugh. With the movie set to hit theatres in 2025, fans of Minecraft can surely rejoice in seeing their favorite blocky universe come to life on the big screen.
