COD Mobile has officially announced its Esports Roadmap for the entirety of 2023 and the beginning of 2024 after several months of anticipation. The World Championship 2023 and the Snapdragon Mobile Masters, two significant competitions, will be held during the 2023 and 2024 Call of Duty Mobile Esports seasons, which will be hosted by Activision in collaboration with ESL Group. A total of $1.5 million in cash will be awarded over the 2023 Season, including the $200,000 Snapdragon Mobile Masters and the $1 million COD Mobile World Championship Grand Finals.
COD Mobile World Championship 2023 will kick off with a prize pool of $1 Million
While the World Championship 2023 draws closer than it would appear, COD Mobile has finally restored its competitive edge. This time, the World Championship offers a massive $1,000,000 in prizes and is probably run on a Samsung Galaxy device.
The same regions that were eligible to compete in the World Championship last year—North America, Europe, South America, Japan, China, Garena, and India—are anticipated to be eligible this year as well. And the whole tournament will be broadcasted on the newly made COD Mobile Esports youtube channel.
Stage 1
Stage 1 of the COD Mobile World Championship starts from April 27 to May 14. It is split into 4 segments where 4-5 days are given to complete one segment. Players need to win a certain number of Ranked games in order to acquire points. Acquiring the required points in one segment itself will directly allow players to participate in Stage 2 of the World Championship.
Stage 2
Stage 2 of the COD Mobile World Championship begins in May, and this is where teamwork comes to play. Players need to form a team of 5-6 and play 30 Ranked games together and win as many as possible. The deadline to complete the matches is uncertain at present. Top 256 teams from Stage 2 move on to the next Stage.
Stage 3
Stage 3, also known as the Regional Qualifiers begins in June and will go on till the following month. All 256 teams are put onto a best-of-three double-elimination bracket. Matches from the Round-of-16 will be broadcasted, unlike last time, and the games would be played in a best-of-five format. Top 8 teams from Stage 3 move to the next Stage. Activision has not given any notable information post-Stage 3, however, Stage 4, also known as the Regional Playoffs, will last for about 7 days this year, rather than 2 days in 2022.
ESL Snapdragon COD Mobile Masters will be held for the first time in all participating regions
Activision will collaborate with Snapdragon Pro Series (SPS) powered by Samsung Galaxy to host Mobile Masters in all participating regions for the first time. The Mobile Masters Open Qualifiers are scheduled to start on April 27 of this year and go through the beginning of 2024, with two seasons spread out across the months in between (April 27 – September and Fall 2023).
The prize money for the two seasons is split equally, at $300,000. The qualified teams from the Open Qualifiers will compete in the Mobile Masters, a LAN event with a $200,000 prize pool that will start right after the second Open Qualifiers are over. Europe, South America, North America, India, and Japan are among the regions that can participate in Mobile Masters.
