Free Fire India Championship 2020: Everything you need to know

Free Fire had amazing success in 2019. After its success, Garena has announced a tournament for the Indian region in 2020. The Indian mobile esports market has proved to be huge for other similar games like PUBG Mobile. PMCO Spring Split 2020, is also around the corner. Along with this, the Indian Mobile esports market is getting another major start in 2020. Garena has announced Free Fire India Championship 2020 with a prize pool of ₹35,00,000.

About Free Fire

Free Fire is a mobile battle royale game developed and published by Garena. The game was released in March 2017 for both Android and iOS devices. The game is based on standard battle royale mode where fifty players drop on the island and the last surviving player wins the game. Garena Free Fire is an online free-to-play game that is played in the third party perspective. The game has successfully grossed $1 Billion worldwide by November 2019.


About Free Fire India Championship 2020

The tournament will consist of 3 stages:-

  1. Qualifier Stage
  2. League Stage (24 Teams)
  3. Final Stage (12 Teams)

The qualifier stage will be an online round where various teams will participate and only 24 teams will be selected to qualify for the league stage. Moving on, the league stage will be an offline round where the 24 teams will be divided into 4 groups. Further, the top 12 teams will qualify for the final stage of the Free Fire Indian Championship 2020.

Prize Pool Distribution

The total prize money is ₹35,00,000 which will be allocated as follows:-

  1. Champions – ₹15,00,000 ($ 21164.17)
  2. Runner ups – ₹6,00,000 ($ 8465.67)
  3. 3rd place finish – ₹3,00,000 ($ 4232.83)
  4. 4th place finish – ₹1,50,000 ($ 2116.42)
  5. 5th-7th place finish – ₹1,00,000 ($ 1410.94)
  6. 8th-9th place finish – ₹70,000 ($ 987.66)
  7. 10th-12th place finish – ₹50,000 ($ 705.47)
  8. 13th-24th place finish – ₹30,000 ($ 423.28)

20 points will be awarded per kill. Apart from this, according to the place where the team ends on, the following scores will be provided:

How to register for Free Fire Indian Championship 2020

The registration for the tournament is now live and every interested player can register their team of 4-5 members.

1. Open the Free Fire India Championship official website

2. Find the “Register Now” ribbon

Look at the top right corner of the screen. You’ll find a ribbon highlighting “register now”.

3. Fill out the details

Now a form will come up. Fill out all the details. Make sure you read the rules and regulations before applying.

4. Wait for confirmation

After you submit the details, wait for the official confirmation about your registration. It will also provide the details of the further steps.

Here is the schedule that Garena has provided so far

  • FFIC 2020 Qualifier Stage – 31st January to 13th February
  • League Stage – 29th February to 15th Match
  • Finals – 29th Match
