Hong Kong Attitude is crowned as the champion of Arena of Valor Garena Challenger Series (GCS) Summer 2023

A massive prize money was awarded to the participants!

Arena of Valor Garena Challenger Series (GCS) Summer 2023 has ended with Hong Kong Attitude becoming the crowned champion. In the Grand Final, the champion team took down Flash Wolves by a score line of 4-3. This is the team’s third GCS trophy though the third title took 2 years to come in hand. Before the grand finals took place, the Arena of Valor esports event started on the 19th of August 2023 and ended with Hong Kong Attitude lifting the champion trophy.

Winning this event has ensured a slot in the Honor of Kings International Championship 2023 and the Arena of Valor International Championship 2023. Apart from that, the runner-up and the third-placed team will play in the AIC 2023, while the 4th, 5th, and 6th place holders will have to play in the wildcard stage. On the other hand, the rest of the five teams apart from the champion will have to play the Chinese Taipei qualifiers of Honor of Kings International Championship.

GCS Summer 2023: The champion team’s run on the event

The playoff stage started from the upper bracket semifinals, where Hong Kong Attitude made one team and Flash Wolves met Bikertopia Esports. Hong Kong Attitude and Flash Wolves won their respective matches and moved to the upper bracket final. The champion team defeated Flash Wolves in the upper bracket final and moved to the grand final, and the runner-up had to move to the lower bracket final to fight against Bikertopia Esports.

Flash Wolves took a close call win by making the scoreline 4-3. The team, then, went to meet their slayer from the UB final, GCS Summer 2023 champion Hong Kong Attitude. The first round went to the runner-up team, and the next two rounds went to the champion. The drama continued to run and after the end of round six, the score line was 3-3. After 20 minutes of fighting in the final round, the champion team took down their opponent to lift the trophy.

Hong Kong Attitude took the biggest chunk of the prize pool home

GCS Summer 2023 featured a whopping sum of NT$4,600,000 (almost $142,500) as the prize money and the champion team took away the largest share of it. The distribution of the prize pool is as follows.
