Honor of Kings is going to arrange a whole new event that replaced the Winter Champion Cup. The event, named Honor of Kings Challenger Cup (HCC) 2021, has already seen its run and now going to hold the playoffs stage where the 8 best teams will fight for a massive 3.5 million Chinese Yuan (about $549,000). The offline event will be held in China Hangzhou, Hangzhou Olympic Sports Center.

Tournament Format
While the playoffs stage is going to roll from January 5th to the 15th, the last chance qualifier has already ended on the 3rd, determined four teams to join the quarterfinals aka the playoffs. Teams will fight in a single-elimination bracket following a format for all matches to be played in a best-of-seven.
Participating Teams
After the last chance qualifier, four teams will join the directly invited four in the playoffs. The top three teams from KPL Fall 2021 and the Champion of KGL Fall 2021 are invited to the Playoffs directly. Here is the list of the participant teams for the playoffs stage.

Prize pool
The event has a massive amount to share with the teams where each has an initial “bounty” of CNY 437,500 starting from the Playoffs stage. The final prize money depends on the result of the seven rounds as a team will lose a portion of its initial bounty to the winning team. Thus, the more rounds a team takes, the more heavy its bag will be.

Fans can watch the final playoffs of the championship on the official Youtube channel of KPL. Honor of Kings is the Chinese version of Arena of Valor, a 5v5 multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA). Like some other popular games, this one also provides a separate competitive platform for China only.
