Mobile Legends, the popular MOBA from MOONTON Games, is currently commencing its year-final esports event in the Philippines. The M5 World Championship 2023 is featuring 16 best teams from regions all over the world. However, similar to the previous editions of the event, the ID-PH (Indonesia and Philippines) teams continue to establish their domination in the M5 World Championship. As the event is closing to its end, the fact is clear that this year’s event also has a higher probability of ending up in the hands of any team from PH-ID.
ID-PH domination in M5 World Championship 2023: A regular tale in the MLBB esports
The grand final of the event started on the 9th of December 2023 and continues. As of now, the event is at the lower bracket quarter while the upper bracket has the final match scheduled. However, there are still 6 matches, and 6 teams are left in the run to the championship title.
And, 4 of the teams are from either Indonesia or the Philippines. The surprising fact is that the event has five slots for the teams from ID and PH. Team Flash is the only team to lose track.
Taking a look at the two upper bracket finalists, ONIC Esports and AP. Bren, both the teams have won their knockout stage matches and now are waiting to step into the grand final. This shows the level of domination that the ID-PH teams have been able to establish in the M5. Not only the teams, but the players are also putting individual excellence in each stage. The first four days of the knockout stage witnessed players from ID and PH taking the “Daily Star” award away.
No regions have been able to take the trophy home except for the ID-PH
The rise of ID-PH domination in MLBB esports is not a new scene for Mobile Legends fans. Rather, watching any teams from these two countries taking away the champion title has become a habit for everyone. Though ID and PH teams are dominating the scene, the Philippines has better statistics in winning the championships.
On the inaugural event of the MLBB World Championship, Indonesian giant EVOS Legends took the trophy home. That was the only time Indonesia witnessed the trophy in their hands. For the next three consecutive seasons of the World Championship, the championship title went to the hands of any team from the Philippines. And for this M5, the chance is higher as well to recap the stories that the previous editions have told.
