Mobile Legends: Bang Bang has announced season 3 of Mobile Legends MPL- BR. It will be the esports league’s third season, with RRQ Akira looking to defend its title. The registration for the tournament has already started and Qualifiers will begin on July 21. MOONTON Games is the organizer of the tournament and TikTok will be the sponsor of the league for this season again.
Mobile Legends MPL-BR Season 3: Tournament Format
Qualifiers
The tournament will start with an Open Qualifier. The qualifier will be held in two phases from July 21 to July 24. One thousand twenty-four (1024) teams will participate in the first phase of the qualifier. Among them, the top 16 teams will fight for qualification in Phase 2.
The 16 teams will be divided into two groups where they will fight in a double-elimination bracket. Each group’s top two teams will qualify for MPL-BR Season 3.
Regular Season
The regular season will be held in a single round-robin format. The teams qualified from the qualifiers will fight against four invited teams in the regular season matches. All the games are supposed to be Best of 3 (Bo3) matches. MPL BR-S3 might follow the following point system for the regular season:
- Earn +1 for each game win
- Earn -1 for each game lost
The top six teams from this stage are supposed to qualify for the playoffs.
Playoffs
The top six teams from the previous stage will compete for the title in a double-elimination bracket. Teams will play all the matches in a Best of 5 (Bo5) format. The grand final will be played in Best of 7 (Bo7) format.
Mobile Legends MPL-BR Season 3: Participating Teams
The top four teams from MPL-BR Season 2 are supposed to be invited for MPL-BR Season 3. However, no confirmation has been given by the organizers yet. We will update the team names as soon as there is an announcement about participating teams.
