PUBG Mobile banned two Vietnamese teams from PMPL South Asia Fall 2022 for violating event rules

Both teams were found guilty of teaming up!

PUBG Mobile Esports witnessed a shameful event happen yesterday. Two PUBG Mobile Esports teams are caught teaming up during the just concluded PUBG Mobile Pro League (PMPL) Southeast Asia Championship Fall 2022. When this happened, the event was holding its play-in stage matches. The banned teams, Phoenix Esports (4ANIX), and Eighteen Plus Esports (ETP) are both from Vietnam. Both of the teams qualified for the championships after finishing in the top nine of the PMPL Vietnam Fall 2022. As the allegations against the two Vietnamese teams were found to be true, they have been banned for one year from all the official esports events of PUBG Mobile.

During match four of day 2, ETP eliminated the whole Phoenix Esports’ by vehicles. Thus, the team helped ETP to gather four important points. Moreover, fans of Indonesian giant BTR brought up charges against both the alleged teams for targeting BTR. As Phoenix was spotted taking several fights with BTR and it was clear in the final match after the team took a drop clash in Pochinki.

The eliminated BTR and the team failed to collect their much-needed points. Thus, BTR finished in sixth place and failed to qualify for the championship. However, it came up in the investigations that both teams were blatantly teamed up in several matches. Thus, the authority decided to impose a one-year ban on both teams. They’ll no longer be eligible to participate in any official tournament hosted by PUBG Mobile.

The two-day event started on 3 September and ended on the next day. 16 teams from different regional pro leagues were competing in the event for a slot in the PMPL Southeast Asia Championship Fall 2022. PMPL SEA Championship Fall 2022 Play In took the top three as qualified while the winner crown went to Vampire Esports.
